Great Hostel - Get what you pay for!

Advantages: Great, Clean Friendly Hostel
Disadvantages: More Expensive

Perth City YHA Perth City YHA is in a great location, walking distance from the main shopping area and bars and restaurants. Railway and Bus services are close by. Rooms: Dorm rooms are available from 4 ? 10 Bed, we opted for a 4 bed dorm room so that we could all stay together, and the room was a good size with two bunk beds. All linen is provided, lockers are available for use in the rooms but you will need your own padlock. The hostel had an overall feeling of cleanliness which was great and the female bathrooms where very nicely kept. We had been warned previously that this hostel could be noisy and that you can hear the trains going by at the railway, but we are pleased to say we never heard a thing. Facilities: The kitchen at this hostel has to be one of the biggest I have seen; there are also ample food ...

Review of Perth City YHA Backpackers Hostel, Perth

Not the best but not the worst

Advantages: Great view on roof, cheap
Disadvantages: no free lockers and not that friendly

Albert Park Backpackers in Auckland is a very cheap place to stay, the location is great but it was not the friendliest hostel I have stayed in. I flew in from LA which is a 12 hour flight and was pretty tired as I am sure you can imagine, I pleased that the directions I had from the hostel where easy to follow, I just had to jump on a shuttle bus, this was easy to find and cost $15. Address: Albert Park Backpackers 27-31 Victoria Street East Auckland, New Zealand Phone: 09 309 0336 Fax: 09 309 9474 Email: bakpak@albertpark.co.nz To get to the hostel from town walk down from Sky City visitors centre over Queen Street and into Victoria Street East and you will find it on the right, opposite the Victoria St car park. Reception: The staffs at Albert Park are friendly enough but are not very forthcoming when it ...

Review of Albert Park Backpackers Hostel, Auckland, New Zealand

Hostel beside the park.

Advantages: Loads
Disadvantages: No parking.

, which opens to serve dinner. Dinner is good value, so if you are a poor backpacker it is great. The hostel does not have any parking area, this is the way because of is location bit there are many near by. But who needs a car anyway. GETTING THERE: Once you are at the train station you can either get a taxi, its not that far so it will not be expense or you can hop on a tram, ask the driver is he going near vondlepark, and your on the way. NEAR BY: Leidseplein is a very lively square in the city, it is full of restaurants, bars, cafés, coffeeshops and nightclub. One side of the square is full of tables and chairs from all the surrounding bars and café. The other side had the big bulldog coffeeshop (just have a look in there, do not buy anything, all tourist prices in there) and the street performers, who are great fun to watch ...
