Advantages: Relaxing, beautiful scenery
Disadvantages: Quite remote

I stayed at the Golden Sands hotel in October 2004. We paid £800 for a package holiday, spending 3 nights in Bangkok and 7 nights in Cha Am at the Golden Sands. The hotel was large but consisted mainly of German or Russian guests. We were the only British couple staying at the hotel which wasn't really a problem but it is always nice to meet new people on holiday. The hotel pool was literally 50 metres from the beach. The beach had gorgeous white sand and the hotels and beach were protected by armed guards so it was safe to take a walk no matter what time of days or night, you always felt safe. Disadvantages: none come to mind about the area but the flight is long

...amazing holiday, would definatley recommend chaweng to anyone visiting thailand. particluarly young couples and travellers. You do see the sights of older gentleman with very young thai girls which i know can put people off a little sometimes but you get used to it and it seems much more acceptable by the end of your stay because it is the norm over there so dont let this put you off visiting thailand or chaweng as it is amazing. we cant wait to ... ...Along the beach is a cocktail bar with a fire thrower, very chilled out with a bonfire and cushions on the beach so what more could you need.
