chaweng, koh samui island
Review of Chaweng Resort, Surat Thani by green82

Advantages: nightlife, beaches, local people, fun, everythuing!!
Disadvantages: none come to mind about the area but the flight is long

...amazing holiday, would definatley recommend chaweng to anyone visiting thailand. particluarly young couples and travellers. You do see the sights of older gentleman with very young thai girls which i know can put people off a little sometimes but you get used to it and it seems much more acceptable by the end of your stay because it is the norm over there so dont let this put you off visiting thailand or chaweng as it is amazing. we cant wait to ... An Oasis of Comfort!
Review of Avalon Beach Resort, Pattaya, Thailand by ukusa

Advantages: Large rooms, on the beach, great staff, excellent pool area
Disadvantages: none

...We found out about Avalon from my in-laws. A few of my husband's family live in that area and we had been told that a gorgeous new hotel had been built. It had been open less than two years. Once we found out the name, I looked for their website- http://www.avalonbeachresort.com/ After having a good look around the website, I fell in love with the place and decided to book. ~Booking~ Since were doing a DIY job, I emailed the hotel to find out about ...
...the hotel is Russian. Avalon is not on the UK travel agent list yet. So, we were the only English speakers at the hotel. We were not bothered by this and we soon began making Russian friends. ~ Location ~ Avalon Beach Resort is located on Jomtein Beach. It is right on the beach. As you leave the resort, you cross the pathway and you are on the beach. We were able to take Baht buses easily from the hotel. They would call to the gates and get a bus ... Read review

Andaman Lanta - A little bit of paradise!
Review of Andaman Lanta Resort, Ko Lanta by Bex727

Advantages: Cheap, friendly and everything you need!
Disadvantages: You will not want to leave.

...food. The food in the Andaman was good also. Very family friendly hotel, with a pool on site. You just have to remember that this isn't a Europena hotel with lots of activities on site. But then again, we didn't want that. I often find that they get in the way of enjoying a quiet day by the pool anyway. I fell in love with the Island and the fabulous views over the sea from the hotel. A lightning Storm nearly every night looked amazing over the ...
...Along the beach is a cocktail bar with a fire thrower, very chilled out with a bonfire and cushions on the beach so what more could you need. None of us had any complaints about this short stay and after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok this is the perfect place to relax! and for about £20 a night per room - you cannot go wrong with this hotel - recommended! ... Thai Luxury
Review of Chaweng Beachcomber, Ko Samui by daylehall

Advantages: Beautiful rooms, exceptional staff, great location
Disadvantages: Beach could be a little noisy

...located in the middle of Chaweng Beach in Ko Samui. This hotel has been given a three star rating which I feel it more than deserves. The hotel is set within tropical gardens, with the restaurant and swimming pool leading straight onto Chaweng Beach. The hotel has 58 rooms which are spread out across three stories. There are also more expensive rooms which come in Thai style villas which have their own terrace, these rooms are located right near ...
...on the other side of Chaweng Beach, there is a free shuttle bus which runs between the two hotels. As Ko Samui is a fairly small island, we were pleased to find that out hotel was only a ten minute taxi ride away from the airport. Travel Time from The UK We flew from London Gatwick to Bangkok, via Doha. To get to Bangkok, it took us 2 six and a half hour flights. From Bangkok, you can fly directly to Ko Samui which takes a further 45 minutes. Price ... Read review

Hyatt Regency in Royal Hua Hin !
Review of Hyatt Regency, Hua Hin by ROYALP

Advantages: 5 Star luxury at affordable prices.
Disadvantages: A little off the beaten track.

From the moment you arrive at the impressive front entrance with its long sweeping driveway you can tell that this hotel has 'class'. Situated on the edge of Hua hin (yet easily reached by foot in 15/20 minutes) the complex has low rise beautiful accomodation set around stunning gardens and pools and across from the enormous free form swimming pool (which has a wicked steep slide..not for the faint hearted!) lies a gorgeous stretch of white powdery ...
...gigantic golden statue of Buddha which towers over the rocky headland. The local monks will be glad to see you and you can have them pray with you and give you a twisted coloured rope bracelet which is supposed to keep you from harm and bring you peace. Turn left and you can walk into town, this will take you close to the King of Thailands Royal Palace (who holidays here). Although no golf course of their own they have arrangements with the local ...
