justifiably boasts a holistic spa, superb cuisine and one-on-one butler service, an experience you would be lucky to find anywhere else. Thalassa Boutique Hotel and Spa is set on a promontory where archaeologists are still working. The sea surrounds you on three sides. So whichever residence you are in, be it one of the 58 luxuriously appointed rooms or one of the hotel\'s four beautiful private suites, the balcony enjoys a sea view. You get a choice of therapies in your room or by the water\'s edge, if you like. Gastronomically, you will be most impressed: seafood from the celebrity chef, New Cypriot cuisine based on old family recipes and teasing mezas to enjoy with a drink by the pool. Thalassa Boutique Hotel and Spa is surrounded by the sea just minutes from Coral Bay Village near Paphos. The sun rises over the pristine cliffs of Petra Tou Romiou and guests can enjoy breakfast in the Temple of Aphrodite. The delightful St George harbour, Akamas Peninsular, Governor Beach and Laura Beach are just a few Paphos attractions, all within easy reach. Thalassa Boutique Hotel and Spa is 25 minutes from Paphos International Airport and only 15 minutes away from Paphos town with its UNESCO World heritage mosaics. In front of the hotel is the ancient Mycenean site of Maa - Palaiocastro dated 1250 BC. The One Bedroom suite features one bedroom with living room and balcony with great views of the bay. ...I have just returned home after a couple of weeks in Paphos.
This is my seventh visit to Paphos over 3 years. This time it was very different. Being my first visit since Cyprus changed over to Euros in Jan 2008, I was amazed to notice the changes that had already been made.
The Harbour had changed almost beyond recognition. For those of you who have already visited this area, you are in for a shock of delight.
The harbour sea front has now gone pedestrian. Gone the noisy buses, the taxis parked all along the sea front. the shabby little shops have now been replaced with smart boutiques and gift shops.
Restaurants are modern clean and inviting. It was almost finished when I returned and a few more weeks will see the completion.
The traffic is now diverted through the shop, by Debenhams and the Supermarket, the main...

Advantages: Beautiful setting, helpful staff Disadvantages: Quite a way from Paphos town centre
...We stayed at this Hotel in June and had originally booked two studio apartments but on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom villa this may have affected my opinion of this hotel.
The only complaint we could possibly have made about this Hotel is it is not actually in Paphos, it is the last hotel on the 'Tomb of the Kings' road running out of Paphos, having said that we had a hire car so the distance wasn't a problem for us but if you were expecting to stay here and walk into Paphos you'd have a long walk.
Right that is the complaint out of the way now for the good points. Firstly you must go to at least one of the Monday night BBQ's, not so much for the quality of the food but to watch the Greek dancing, the main male dancer was supported by one of the other dancers every time he did a kick, it was hilarious.
We were...

Advantages: Located on the beach, pleasant rooms, outdoor pool. Disadvantages: Locality, variety of food, few english -speaking staff, gym, indoor pool, entertainment,
...-cream).
As for activities we did go for a walk outside the hotel grounds but after covering a 10 mile radius we found one random shop, selling cheap perfume and cosmetics.
Some of the bar staff spoke decent english but the majority found it hard to understand us, one in particular just could not help himself looking at my girlfriend which made me feel very uncomfortable.
The indoor pool was a big let down as we thought we would be able to swim a few lengths every day but to be honest it was more of a spa, the gym, for which you had to pay £4 a day, was a shambles and only had 3 out of date machines.
The entertainment was ok at the start but soon became a bit tedious and we found ourselves hiding from the hotel staff.
If your just interested in sitting in the sun and great views then this holiday is for you but everything else was a huge dissapointment....

Hello and welcome to my review on the Athena Beach Hotel, in Cyprus.
In this review I will try to explain as much as I can about the hotel, why we chose the hotel and the area and what is available once you get there.

I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos.
Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it... more
Although looking a bit tired these days, the Avanti Hotel is in a great location and only a few minutes walk from Paphos harbour and across the road from the beach. It has an excellent main pool area with kids pool too. The service is friendly and... more
