The Allen Lee hotel is classed as a hostel on many websites but I think this is because of its budget prices. When staying in October this year, we paid $337/ £160 for three nights in a twin room. The hotel is budget-traveler friendly and seemed popular with twenty-somethings and backpackers, which suited us fine. Although the hotel was very basic, it served a decent complimentary breakfast and had free wifi in the lobby.
When we walked in to the ... ...bright; the staff were friendly and accommodating. The only problem we had was the room in which we stayed. We stayed on the lower floor in a twin room (although we had requested a double when booking online). The room was relatively clean but it didn't have a very nice feel about it; it was dingy and in need of refurbishment, a stark contrast to the lobby of the hotel.
