Gay + Straight Brighton
Review of Brighton in general by  ka2cu

Advantages: Seaside, Shopping, Nightlife
Disadvantages: Expensive

...and pubs such as The White Horse, The Amsterdam, DR Brighton, and Legends. Most have regular cabaret acts on, but the best I have seen was at Legends. The nightclub Revenge was one of the best I have been to out of London, it was a great mix of people and music. Secrets is a more quite drinking club with a mini dance floor down stairs if you wanted to strut you stuff. I stayed in the Travelodge which is about a 15-20 minutes walk from the sea front. It is a new Travelodge and it was excellent and I have stayed there many times and the staff are helpful. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel and most services takes you down into the town center. Hotels are priced reasonably but do have a look around! If going around a major holiday like a Bank Holiday then do book in advance! I recommend this to anyone for a family or who wants to get away from... Read review

BRIGHTON ROCKS! MY HOMETOWN
Review of Brighton in general by  Mauri

Advantages: Lively, Entertaining, Good food, Good beer
Disadvantages: Can get busy

...Brighton to many is London-by-the-sea to others the destination for a dirty weekend. I have lived in Brighton for over 20 years, I even tried to leave once but soon realised what a mistake I?d made! Over the years the Town (now officially a city) has outgrown these popular preconceptions and has developed into one of the liveliest centres for tourism, culture and entertainment in the south of England. *HISTORY* Up until the 16th century Brighton was small but important fishing village with a population of 400 fishermen. But within a generation in the early 17th century Brighton became the largest town in Sussex. The town became known as a health spa due to the supposed medical properties of the seawater that would cure many diseases. The growing Royal interest of the Prince Regent (to become George IV) led to the building... Read review

Amsterdam - A tourists guide
Review of Amsterdam in general by  Jennyrose

Advantages: Easily accessible from UK, Cheap flights/coach transport.
Disadvantages: Small city and not many maps so you get easily lost

...Many people like to invest in a short city break to go and relax from their daily working lives. Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands is a good example of a city break. This is what I'm going to write my review about. I recently visited Amsterdam in February 2005 on a mini cruise and compiled information to write this review. Take a map and remember where you visited as the streets look the same and you can find yourself walking in circles. One of the main reasons why UK tourists visit Netherlands is because it is extremely close to home. People decide to stay in Amsterdam because of the wonderful sights and culture; the Dutch inhabitants are very friendly and love tourists when they try to speak Dutch, it shows that the tourists appreciate the language and culture and have bothered to learn it. It shows that UK tourists don... Read review
