...and pubs such as The White Horse, The Amsterdam, DR Brighton, and Legends. Most have regular cabaret acts on, but the best I have seen was at Legends. The nightclub Revenge was one of the best I have been to out of London, it was a great mix of people and music. Secrets is a more quite drinking club with a mini dance floor down stairs if you wanted to strut you stuff. I stayed in the Travelodge which is about a 15-20 minutes walk from the sea front. It is a new Travelodge and it was excellent and I have stayed there many times and the staff are helpful. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel and most services takes you down into the town center. Hotels are priced reasonably but do have a look around! If going around a major holiday like a Bank Holiday then do book in advance! I recommend this to anyone for a family or who wants to get away from...

Advantages: Easily accessible from UK, Cheap flights/coach transport. Disadvantages: Small city and not many maps so you get easily lost

This is what I'm going to write my review about. I recently visited Amsterdam in February 2005 on a mini cruise and compiled information to write this review. Take a map and remember where you visited as the streets look the same and you can find yourself walking in circles.
One of the main reasons why UK tourists visit Netherlands is because it is extremely close to home. People decide to stay in Amsterdam because of the wonderful sights and culture; the Dutch inhabitants are very friendly and love tourists when they try to speak Dutch, it shows that the tourists appreciate the language and culture and have bothered to learn it. It shows that UK tourists don...

It doesn't get more central than the heart of Amsterdam, which is about 30 yards into the vibrant red light district. I would urge people to take the other review with a pinch of salt, bearing in mind that this is more suited to young people who are... more
Business trips can be tedious at the best of times but the tedium is exacerbated when overnight hotel accommodation offers little more than a bed for the night in a faceless establishment.
