A fabulously fun new twist on Noah's Ark by master storyteller Lynley Dodd! The rain is ... more
fast approaching and Noah wants to set sail. There are still lots of animals queueing to get on to the Ark but it's absolutely jam packed. Noah has to ask his friend Sam Jam Balu to take the other Ark and all the rest of the animals. So he valiantly starts gathering hip-hopping hippos mad kangaroosters and flying flapdoodles - not to mention the dithering dingbats and sabre-tooth mice! But no sooner has San Jam Balu finished his task than the Other Ark is well and truly grounded!

It was £2 for entrance (I think it was on wednesday night) and that included the price of a bacardi breezer at the bar. After that, all drinks, regular alcopops such as hooch, bacardi breezer, volenski (like smirnoff ice for those who dont know); pints; house spirits. They also do cocktails for discount rates too.

If you're in the mood for a cheap drink with some good music, The Ark is definitely one of the places to be!
Dress code is pretty casual, as long as you look smart you'll be ok. I'd give the trainers a miss though since they may have a problem with them on somedays.

This club was a pleasant surprise, I was imagining it to be grotty and nasty, as many places that offer all drinks for £1 seem to be, but it was totally the opposite.

Advantages: Friendly Atmosphere Disadvantages: Drinks Are Quite Expensive, Limited Food Menu
As far as Pub names go there can't be too many Pubs in England called the Noah's Ark but in Sheffield where I live there is not just one but two different establishments with that name. One of these is at Crookes, just outside of the City Centre, in an area that is heavily populated by Students and the other, which is less well known is at the opposite side of the City in the suburb of Intake. This review is about the latter which is very local to where I live. This is also the place where I recently spent my Christmas Eve.
The Noah's Ark stands on the Junction of Hollinsend Road and the A616 known locally as Mansfield Road. It is not an old building, built only during the early 1900's but since this date several small Housing Estates have been built around here so this Pub has always been popular.
From the outside this place looks ...
Advantages: good staff, good food, good atmoshpere, good fun! Disadvantages: drink prices not the cheapest
The Ark on Frederick Street, near Strathclyde University is one of a chain of theme pubs in Glasgow. 'It's A Scream' themed pubs can be recognised by their yellow decor and copies of the famous picture 'The Scream'by Edvard Munch above their doors.
From the moment you enter The Ark you will be overcome with a sense of fun and adventure. The pub has been built in the shape of, you guessed it, and ark, and has one long bar and tables on three levels. One of the main attractions for those up for a laugh are the games available, including giant connect four, and the large screen tv will appeal to many others.
Students who plan to visit the 'It's A Scream' pubs frequently can apply for a 'Yellow Card' which has no outgoing fee but allows the holder to enjoy discounted drinks and special offers every time they visit.
Any dicounts will be ...

Advantages: handy for the Strathclyde and Caledonia students defecting from their unions! Disadvantages: a chain such as this could become generic and boring
****I'm at an advantage here since for a college project I have been reviewing pubs, and this is one of them. I have been reviewing establishments on the basis of Atmosphere, Barstaff and Doormen, Music, Prices, Toilets, and proximity to Clubs. Hopefully any bad ratings won't reflect on my finished college project lol!****
Atmosphere
Upon entry into The Ark, in Frederick Street to the east of the city centre, it becomes evident that the Scream pub chain stick to the same decoration and furnishing scheme. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though - this is not the pub which holds title of 'The McDonald's of pubs'. A title which is neither flattering nor exaggerated.
It has a friendly atmosphere and the clientele appear to be a mix of the 18-30 crowd, students and full time workers alike. It should be noted that the pub operates ...
