Banff is a beautiful resort situated in the heart of Banff National Park in Alberta?s Rocky Mountains. The town has something to offer everyone from shopping, to fine dining and skiing! I have been lucky enough to visit Banff twice both on skiing trips, once a few years ago and then again in Feb this year.

Banff was first established a Canada?s first National Park in 1885 and was the third in the world to be given this title.
Many sites in the park were inhabited by tribes previous to this date but it was until the Canadian Pacific Railway was starting to be built in this area that the director of this company named Banff after the place where he was born, Banffshire in Scotland.

While in Banff, Mr Tart and I sampled numerous restaurants. We tried Giorgio?s early in the holiday and we so impressed that we returned there on our last night.
LOCATION:
Giorgio?s is located at 219 Banff Avenue, which is the main road through Banff. It is fairly easy to spot. There were steps up to the door and I didn?t see another way in so I?m not sure if wheelchairs can access the restaurant.
THE EXPERIENCE:
The restaurant is spread over three levels so it can sit quite a lot of people. Both times we went we walked straight in and got a table (including a Friday night) but if you were a bigger group or wanted it to be guaranteed I?d recommend booking.
The décor of the restaurant had quite an Italian feel about it and I really liked the atmosphere. Both times we visited the restaurant the service was excellent ...
Mr Tart and myself recently spent 10 days in Banff for a skiing holiday. We looked around a fair few hotels before deciding on Brewster?s Mountain Lodge. We were looking for something reasonably priced that had some good reviews.
LOCATION:
Brewster?s is not, despite its name, located on the edge of a mountain. It is actually in the middle of Banff townsite, on Caribou Street (yes, nearly all the streets in Banff are named after wildlife!). Banff is the main town located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. The nearest main airport is Calagary, which has direct flights to the UK, with a 2 hour bus ride from there to Banff itself. The hotel?s entrance is slightly hidden away as it is surrounded by shops but there is a sign indicating to it.
