, hoping to give awareness to the general public about the many ?cowboy? builders/ plumbers/tree surgeons?well almost any conmen out there who are intent on conning the general public, usual the elderly, out of there hard earned cash.
It is a simple format which this show uses, bringing the ?rogues? to the house which Allwright and co. have rigged with camera, using an actor/actress to play the part of the bewildered ?victim?, whilst the two investigators, and an expert on that particular job, hide somewhere around the house, watching the ?conmen? and their every move.
Before the crew invite the ?roguetrader? to the house, with the intention of offering them work, the shows expert gives the ?job? the once over, then gives a report of what needs ?fixing? and how much it should cost to ?fix it?? in some cases simply removing a connecter so ...
Advantages: Great story line, true life Disadvantages: Difficult to understand

Bo Marche wants to place a big trade but a rival bank has offered him a better deal than Nick can do.
Not wanting to loose Bo Marche, Nick does the trade, but ends up making a loss from it.
This loss grows and grows as he bets on the market trying to gamble again and recover the money.
His luck isn't going with him though and soon he starts asking London for more and more money to cover his losses.
It's not in small amounts either, £145M in 1 week!!
As losses grow and the directors are going mad Nick gets the shock of his life.
Another trader (Danny) rings him in the middle of the night to ask him to turn the TV on.
The Kobe earthquake has took place, knocking the market for six.
This looses Nick £50M in just one day.
Eventually his losses grow until he can't take it any more and leaves.
Eventually collapsing ...

Advantages: Great acting, excellent plot Disadvantages: A little technical at times but doesn't really spoil the enjoyment much
RogueTrader is a film-documentary depicting the rise and fall of a Mr Nick Leeson (played by the excellent Ewan McGregor), an investor for Barings Bank. For those who were living on the Moon in 1995, Barings Bank (of which the Queen was a customer) collapsed that year after Leeson abused his position of trust and gambled customer's money on the stock market. Leeson had it all, good job, money and was happily married but he wanted more but what transpired was not what Leeson expected....
I decided to buy this film due to the fact I take an interest in the stock market. Of course, during the film many technical terms are used and at times I did have problems understanding what was going on but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the film as I got the gist of what was happening. You don't have to be a financial analyst to enjoy ...
