More of a bar

Advantages: Good Guinness
Disadvantages:

The Bank, off down by Place Chatelain, is more of a pub styled bar than a restaurant, and it serves a good, if not slightly pricey pint of Guinness. There are tables on the street, as well as big sofas inside. The walls are decorating with safes. If you go into the men's loos then look carefully at the messages written there.... Good location, but slightly tired fittings

Advantages: Excellent location (only 5 minutes walk from the Grand Place), free wireless internet access
Disadvantages: Fittings seemed well-used, rooms dark

of breakfast, with juices and coffees and it was all self-service, with breakfast from 6:30am on weekdays (very practical) and until 11am on weekend days (likewise!). Instead of a minibar in the room there were items for sale by the reception at non-minibar prices. Locationwise it was very practical - only a few hundred metres from Brussels Central station (for the train to Zaventem airport) and from the Grand Place and for the conference facilities of the National Bank of Belgium. All in all the hotel was perfectly satisfactory, but not somewhere I would consider for a romantic weekend break given its lack of facilities, although for price and location for business travel it was perfectly adequate for my needs. ...

BRUSSELS - BRUSSEL - BRUXELLES so good they named it thrice!

Advantages: Too many to mention
Disadvantages: None

and cafes you should go to but if time is limited you should at least try to seek out one of the following. 3 BARS La Mort Subite (The Sudden Death): (Warmoesberg/Montagne Aux Herbes Potagères) perhaps the best fruit beer cafe in town. Around the corner to the main bank in Brussels frequented by the richer set who paid people to queue fro them at the bank while they drank and played a pub game similar to shut-the-box. Occasionally, a runner would return from the bank to summon one of the players would have to leave the game immediately or suffer a ?sudden death? or Mort Subite La Becasse Taborastraat / Rue Tabora ,11 - 1000 Brussels Small bar with a tiled corridor entrance that looks like a delft toilet. Last door opens into a small brown bar due to the extensive panelling in the room. Faro beer is served in delft jugs ...
