To get there, ... ...around 200m further south, on the left hand side of the road, is the Bay Horse. From the South, go into York from the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet exit of the A64. The pub is on the right hand side of the road about 3/4 of a mile from the A19/A64 junction.

However, the Bay Horse I am assessing is The Bay Horse, located on the A19 route into York, addressed 105 Main Street, Fulford, York.
To get there, from the centre of York, follow signs for the A19 to Selby, progress into Fulford, a suburb of York. After passing a Repsol filling station, around 200m further south, on the left hand side of the road, is the Bay Horse. From the South, go into York from the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet exit of the A64. The pub is on the right hand side of the road about 3/4 of a mile from the A19/A64 junction.
The Bay Horse is a quality pub. Its not classy, but its cheap and cheerful. Beer is certainly cheap, in Happy Hours, which vary widely month to month, a Pint of John Smiths is £1.30. There is a fully stocked bar, featuring Smiths as wellas Fosters, Guiness, and a range of bottled products.
A reasonable food menu is also available, with chips being the primary intake amongst my group of friends. At £1 per portion they are worth a go. Roast Beef and orkshire pudding is also great if you feel a little more peckish.
Furthermore, the pub has an excellent entertainment selection. There is a 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' game machine, at 50p a pop, as well as a pool table (40p per game), darts board, and a projector television, where live football is shown, particularly where Leeds United are involved.
Basically, its a pub, it sells good, reasonably priced beer, its near my Sixth Form, there are plenty of buses into the centre going by, and there's plenty to do inside. Pukka!
Advantages: Very Close to Hereford centre. Disadvantages: Non really
BAYHORSE INN
I was booked to do a church service in Hereford and my hubby suggested that we go for the weekend, so onto the internet I went, doing a Google search for hotels in the Hereford area. As we were aiming for the HR4 postcode area, we looked for a similar postcode. After looking at a couple of hotels, this one caught my eye, I liked the fact that it had its own website and I thought it looked very nice from the pictures, I also took a look at reviews and the menu on offer.
There were only a couple of short reviews on the one site, one was in favour of the Inn and other ran it down slightly. From experience we decided to take the one review with a pinch of salt and rang up the Inn. I do like it when you can talk to a person instead of emailing when it comes to things like this. Advantages: It is a real down to earth pub (literally!!) Disadvantages: it has been demolished
My initial review of this establishment was somewhat lacking in details (my gratitude to all of those that pointed this out to me) so I thought that I would set the record straight.
When I say that this is a REAL down to earth pub, I LITERALLY meant it, for it has been demolished.
On January 9th this year, at approximately 21:00 hours, a fire broke out in the fourth floor of the building that housed the BayHorse. The pub had actually been closed for a few months because of flooding. I suppose the work of the Strathclyde fire Brigade pouring thousands of gallons of water onto the flames did not help the BayHorse's cause any. (OK, who ordered the water in their whisky?)
The building had to be demolished causing chaos to city centre traffic for a couple of weeks (just how long does it take to rip a building down?
It is sad ...

And....the ultimate instrument for a good pub....... The Weakest Link machine! However, its at the abnormally high price of £1 per play. This is why you should go to The Old White Swan or the BayHorse (both reviewed or soon to be reviewed), or the underwater King's Arms in York where its 50p per play. The Cab also has a reasonably good juke box.
Furthermore, the Hansom cab has reasonably un-peaky toilets. Clean but small. Thats fine by me.
Food is served at a reasonable price considering this pub is smack bang in the centre of York. Sandwiches and Yorkshires - standard York Pub fare.
All in all, the Hansom Cab is a great pub for about 7 or 8pm on a night out. You can get in 3 pints of Sam's and a go on the Weakest Link for under £5, possibly sit in an incredibly comfortable seat. Its also right in the centre of town, handy ...
