Advantages Loads to do and sea is fantastic
Disadvantages You can access it only on a boat

One of the most beautiful Islands I have ever been is Isla Mujeres It is very small island long 5 miles and wide 650 meters. it have got the clearest sea water and the beaches are surrounded with white sand and very clean. You can access this Island only on a boat, from Cancun or Puerto Juarez. In Pre-Columbian times the island was sacred to the Maya Moon Goddess, Ix Chel. When the Spanish arrived here in the 16th century they named it "Isla Mujeres" meaning "Island of Women" because of the many cult images of the Moon Goddess here. I have a full review of this already written just under another category. The island is absolutely stunning esepcially the beach at Playa Norte - you will not believe it's beauty until you see it first hand. less
