Advantages: Keeps children entertained for a couple of hours whilst you relax with a coffee Disadvantages: Little bit expensive
I recently had the pleasure of looking after my two nieces for a couple of days, (I had looked after them before but only for a couple of hours) the week before I had them I started to wonder how do I fill two days with a 4 year old and a 6 year old especially if it was raining.
I decided to have a look on the internet at local attractions (indoor), I didn't want to have to take them to far as I also have a 5 month old daughter to think about, she was the main reason I wanted to keep them busy, they end up playing with her else and lets say the 4 year old isn't exactly gentle.
I came across The Play Dome (www.theplaydome.com) which is only about 10 minutes away from where I live (Honiton, Devon), its an indoor play area with ball pools and slides etc, I thought this would be an ideal place to go with them.
So on the first day ...
Advantages: Friendly staff, clean Disadvantages: Pricey, can have a few problems
My partner, daughter and I stayed at this hotel a couple of times when we go and visit the family up there.
From the outside the hotel looked beautiful and clean and looked really big, as soon as i stepped in the doors i was weary but the staff are all nice and always had a smile on their faces.
The hotel could do with a bit of a lift inside, the rooms wasn't as big as expected from the outside but was well furnished with all your little pieces ( trouser press, tea/coffee etc)
The restaurant was nice with all your traditional food, the waiters and waitresses all know what they are doing and don't mess around, there was one complaint on the next table about a steak wasn't cooked right and the waiter offered to change it straight away, The waiter then came back out and said the steak was all from the same bit lot and it will ...
Advantages: Great accomodation, great food, friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: Closed from November to March
entering the hotel we were greeted by Duncan, the hotel chef and co manager, who I am very pleased to say is of Scottish origins. What a delight to go to a Scottish hotel and be greeted by an actual Scotsman, I would expect to go to other countries and be greeted by locals at any accommodation I choose to stay at. After several minutes of conversation with Duncan we were shown to our room and told to make ourselves comfortable.

Manufacturer's product description
The Belfry Country Hotel and Restaurant is one of Devon's best-kept secrets. Located in the sleepy village of Yarcombe on the old A30 between Honiton and Chard, The Belfry combines individually prepared meals, a superb wine list and the most relaxing atmosphere to create a truly unique dining experience. Unusually diners order in advance but as Paddy Burt observed in The Telegraph, the food is well worth ordering a day in advance.
