I had recently visited London with my whole family on a fine day, after having totally been depressed by an earlier visit on an extremely wet day. Last time, we had decided to use the tube to go to the individual attractions, in an attempt to save money. However, after the tiring trips up and down the tube stations and the walks from there to the tourist places, there was no way we were going to repeat it this time. So, we figured a tour bus would be the best way to see London, and were we right! Upon searching the Internet for London Sightseeing tours, I found the Big Bus Company as the only desired result, and so made my life easy by not having to choose between competing operators. Booking online was easy and offered a 1 Pound discount per adult. At a cost of GBP 15, it was not expensive anyways. The ticket included 3 tours, each distinguishable by the color displayed on the front of each bus. Our long drive from Huddersfield ended near Madame Tussaud's, where we parked on a street for the day, and arrived at the nearest Big Bus Station 2 minutes' walk from the museum. There was a customer representative there who greeted us and informed us all about how the buses operate and how we should plan our trip. As expected, she had a good knowledge of London attractions and was able to tell us what time the Buckingham Palace guard change takes place. The first bus soon arrived and we got on, rushing for a place in the open-top floor. There was a live commentator there adding a touch of personalisation and uniqueness to each tour. The map given by the attendant at the station was perfectly detailed and easily comprehendible. Basically, we had no trouble planning our trip and fitting all attractions in one day's tour. The best was yet to come, however. Attendants at each of the Big Bus's stops had tickets for sale to main attractions such as Madame Tussaud's and others. In our previous trip, we had to stand an hour and a half before entering the museum, that too on a rainy day. Having purchased the ticket on the bus this time, it was almost as if our tour fee had been refunded, saving us at least 2 hours estimatable from the long queue. We later saw that there was another tour operator called the Original London Tour, which had similar services. Obviously, the search engine did not reveal this operator or perhaps it doesn't have a website and thus an online booking facility. Nevertheless, we were extremely satisfied with our tour and finished all attractions in good time. If we had to suggest any friends and relatives how to see London, it would have to be through the Big Bus Company.

Sounds like a good idea. have to say though that London is a place I try to stay away from, I find it too loud, too busy and I HATE the underground with a passion, It scares the pants off of me! Kazzie!!
