Me and my husband stayed her in December Last year. We had visited Cardiff to do some Christmas shopping and booked to stay over. My husband knowing my taste for hotels (especially the ones we cant afford) booked us in to the penthouse as a treat.
There are 5 penthouse suites on the Top Floor. The view is lovely. It would be nicer if it was a view of Cardiff Bay instead of the trains though that I could see! but never mind! The Penthouse cost a very reasonable £99 ( this was total price not per person)This included continental breakfast. This was my only disappointment- I am a bacon and eggs girl. The food is nice enough. However they dont have a restuarant. More of a room where people can eat. You get the choice of Cereal, yoghurt or the Croissants. There is a bar there, located on the ground floor but we didnt try it so I cannot give an idea of price. why would you want to stay in the hotel bar when there are so many places to drink in Cardiff anyway!!
The room itself was stunning. You can see it for yourself on www.thebigsleep.co.uk. The Bed was huge and around it there was a massive fluffy rug. In the bathroom was a two seater jacuzzi. I was very impressed. Ive stayed in much worse for much more than £99.
The Big sleep has 81 rooms. Their newer rooms are the New on 9th rooms. They are from £69 and are slighly better than the standard rooms which start from £45 per night. You can also see these at www.thebigsleep.co.uk there is onsite parking and this is located i think on the third floor after you go up a large ramp. That is where you will find reception also.
Great review with detailed content containing most of the nesesary details and information, great review, well done gosh i'm goin to Cardiff uni. maybe i'll plan to stay here instead of the halls hehe thats if i win the lottery of course, sounds lovely, good review

forgot to mention I live in Cardiff so this could always be an option if I decided to stay there one night with the missus. I would be interested to know also if there was any parking available as I'm sure I can remember seeing some sort of roof parking next to the hotel.

£99 for the penthouse seems good value, but was this per person or for the room for the night? Shame about the continental breakfast as I prefer a cooked one myself. I know what a continental breakfast is, but what kind of items where available?
