Advantages: Beautiful people - very friendly Disadvantages: some nights it has an age restriction
...At Birmingham Uni, this is THE best night out -
everyone knows it, and the tickets sell out the Friday before each
and every week. It's that good. Bobbys is essentially five rooms, all linked together by small
corridors that are maybe too small, but make the place much more
friendly. The first room as you enter had cheesy music, so you'd
best get a pint and move on, up the stairs to the next bar. The bar
is on a different level and is more ... ...are also stairs down to the plush CO2 Bar which is beautiful - all glass and silver. As I only go on Student night, I don't know what the drinks are
priced like on other nights - but £2.50 for a double Vodka and
Redbull is very good. Pints are about £1.60 which is again very good
for a great club. I think the club is over 21's all other nights, but it is well worth
checking out any night as it is possibly the second best club I have
ever been ...

Advantages: near all the nightlife, reasonable music Disadvantages: Doormen are not the most friendly
...here's part 2. Once into the club you are straight into the older music (70's 80's, 90's), good atmosphere but tends to get a little crowded, due to the positioning of the dance floor and the normal male specators you have to push through to get upstairs. As for drinks, on average about the same as most nightclubs in Brum charging the normal £2 - £3 per drink, but make sure you keep hold of your drink as this is one of the nightclubs where 'mine-sweeping' ... ...a short breather before hitting the dance music area. This tends to be a little more serious about dance music but does not provide a large dance floor. It also does not get as packed as down stairs for some strange reason even though the music is better. It also has another bar and a quieter area at the back for chatting etc ;-)
BB's used to attract a slightly older crowd than some of the other night clubs off Broad St. It's not a hardened dance ...

If you are into all things Latin then may we suggest BobbiBrown’sclub on Thursday night, the salsa evening kicks off with lessons in the dance for potential Ricky Martins and Jennifer Lopezs (0121 643 2573).
If you are uninspired by the Latin spirit, another option is V3, formerly Pals, in Newhall Street (0121 236 7879). Thursday night is club night and is open until 2am.
For a cheesy night out of the Camembert variety head to the Dome II at Horsefair (0121 622 2233), prices are certainly a lot cheaper than last year. £1 before 10:30pm and £3 afterwards. Exiles on Smallbrook (0121 643 6696), offers more of the same but may be easier to get into if there is a queue at the Dome.
Liberty’s on the Hagley road (0121 454 4444) is geared towards a more upmarket crowd. But there’s a taxi rank...
