When I needed to find some cheap Hotel accommodation in Nottingham City Centre a couple of Weeks ago, the Internet was the logical place to start my search. I tried the usual chains including Travelodge, but since my stay was less than one week away I quickly found that I was struggling.
Eventually I stumbled upon the Welbeck Hotel. Location wise it seemed perfect, right in the centre of the City, and price wise it was well within my budget too, and so I confirmed my Online booking.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Well to be honest the first thing that impressed me was the location. It was less than five minutes walk from the Lace Market, and well within walking distance of all of the other Shops and Attractions.

If you're walking, the centre is signposted from various points in the city centre, and at the end of the day when you're weighed down with shopping, there are 2 taxi ranks directly outside the main entrance ...

It was approximately 28 degrees and we looked through the booklet many times and ended up walking around for two hours in order to try and find a guest house and bed and breakfast- which there were absolutely none in the City Centre. We almost gave up hope until we came across a place called Citylodge which was in the City Centre and claimed to be "affordable luxury". Seeing as we didn't have many options other than going to a hotel, we decided to stay here ...
