Advantages: many stores and attactions Disadvantages: confusing
...New York is a city of business. But it's also a city of tourism and
culture with it's great museums and attractions. Everybody should go
tere and try out the New York subway. The amount of different people
and places are amazing. Central park is a must. They have the cleanest
park I have ever seen and have these floral arrangements that are
fabulous. But you can't forget about shopping, it's just too hard, there's too many stores to choose from. Overall, New Yorkcity
is fantastic to visit but personnally, I find it too confusing to live
in....

Advantages: Everything. Disadvantages: Some rough areas
...The world famous skyline of New York is always shown on television- especially on Friends and Die Hard with a Vengance.
Normally the city looks more glamerous on the big screen yet New York is a beautiful city.
The shopping is out of this world and even men can shop till they drop. There are huge department stores like: Sears and Bloomingdales, and even the largest Nike store in the World. The Americas really do know how to eat- there are thousands of places to eat at ranging from hot dog stands to fine dining.
Not forgetting all the sights like the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. If you are lucky you will also see a few celebs around the city!
I highly recommend NewYork- especially around Christmas time as the decorations are fantastic!...

...I lived in New YorkCity for a few years, but had little experience of its hotels until after I'd moved away. My husband and I stayed in the Library Hotel in late August of 2004 for two nights. After spending a few nights in one of its sister hotels the Casablanca we had to change accommodation due to room availability.
The Library Hotel is presumably named for its location, right across from the New York Public Library and BryantPark. It is also themed after libraries down to the finest detail, with rooms being numbered by the Dewey Decimal system, and each floor having a different subject or theme, such as The Arts or History, with each guest room being a subcategory. Each room has a bookshelf of books and artwork/decor that corresponds to its theme. If you like you can request certain specially themed rooms, for instance if you...

If you want to stay in Central New York then this is the hotel to book. It is actually IN Times Square! It's a huge modern hotel with over 45 floors so some of the views are great. There is a bar at the top which is a lovely place to have a drink,... more
The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
