Advantages: A wonderful place to visit, either for a short break or a day Disadvantages: It can get busy in the tourist season
...LongMelford is a large village in Suffolk, close to the market town of Sudbury, and 20 minutes away from Bury St. Edmunds. The village lies on the A134.
So how did LongMelford get it’s name? The village street is nearly two miles long, and I was always told as a child, that it boasted the longest main village street in the country, although I am not sure if this is true. Whilst the length of the village is impressive, its width is only a quarter of a mile, hence the name. The village dates from Tudor times, and many influential people have lived there. http://www.longmelford.co.uk/village/people.html sets out a brief history of the village.
LongMelford is a tourist attraction and people come from all over the country to visit the village, either as holiday makers or just out for a day trip. I lived in the village...

Advantages: A wonderful night out with the family, an organised safe display Disadvantages: If the weather has been wet, the ground will become very boggy, the fairground rides are also quite expensive
...At this time of year, a vast majority of people attend a firework display in their local town or village. We live in a rural area, and although our part of the country lacks transport, and things for youngsters in their teenage years to amuse themselves with, the local firework display is as popular now as it ever has been.

The proceeds of the event are donated to various worthy causes, clubs and charities, at a prize-giving event, normally held in December.
The event is held in the village of LongMelford in Suffolk, situated between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, on the A134. LongMelford has...

...Hotel in LongMelford. Maybe I'll review that sometime as well - but for a quick one liner, that's a really nice country hotel.
As the employee living nearest to the Black Lion, I was the default 'entertainments officer' and would willingly give up my evenings if the carrot being offered was dinner at Scutchers. Sarah the waitress used to say that I had the best job she knew - taking nice men for dinner in her restaurant. When I moved out of the area, ex-colleagues told me each time they went, Nick, Diane and Sarah would ask them to pass me their regards.
I have eaten there many times with my own hard-earned cash but more often have taken groups of two to fifteen visitors from all over the world. It doesn't matter where they came from, everyone agreed that Scutchers totally failed to live up to their expectation of bland and stodgy...
