...This is a place where you can easily spend 10Euros on an orange juice. So if you are going to buy a drink, make it a proper one and make it in a spot worth paying money for! Large sunglasses are always in, and just like St. Trop. a bit of gold glamour never did any harm. I love Cannes all year around, but the best months are definately June and September-October. This way you avoid the crowds, you can find a spot on one of the two free beaches and enjoy the sunshine. If you like boat watching there are two great ports to cruise around, watch the deckies sweating in the sun. The old town of Cannes is especially beautiful at night, some wonderful restaurants and little shops to peruse. Truely a great town to visit....

Advantages: Its an exhiliarating feeling to play where so many greats have played and its a brilliant course Disadvantages: No facilities for ladies - too outdated in these times

What I found unfair was the amount of carry from the tee as most of the tees are on a level with the fairway with about 120 – 150 yards of semi rough to carry to reach the short stuff. There are a lot of bunkers and they are certainly strategically placed to catch drives and approach shots. The rough in some places...

Advantages: the only place to stay in Cannes Disadvantages: Probably not the most family friendly if your children aren't used to hotels.
...Le Carlton is an institution in Cannes! It is an amazing hotel with history back to the beginning of the 1900's. It was occupied by the Germans during the second world war. The two points on either side of the hotel were shaped after a woman's breasts. Just this information shows you that it is a hotel of immense history and character. The staff are the highest paid hotel staff in Cannes and possibly the Cote d'Azur and it shows in the quality of service. For a full experience try to get a room overlooking the front of the hotel, although the side rooms are larger and some do have partial sea views. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel over anyother in the area....
