Advantages: Wonderful food, service, with great view. Disadvantages: Nothing to write about.

We have just been to Lesvos for two weeks and we ate at The Captains Table 6 nights out of the 14 and 1 night we could ... ...easier.
During the course of our stay we must have had everything on the menu.
They have a special every day of the week, salmon, hake, stuffed pork.
Our menu and cost for one evening was as follows:
Mushroom a le grec, which Ann and Dougie had and Ann had each night we went. Tzatziki, enough for two and then pitta bread with it. Rob and I ordered a meze, which consisted of tzatziki, olives, ... more

We have just been to Lesvos for two weeks and we ate at The Captains Table 6 nights out of the 14 and 1 night we could not get a table. I add that we where a group of 7 of us so finding a table for 2 is a lot easier.

Mushroom a le grec, which Ann and Dougie had and Ann had each night we went. Tzatziki, enough for two and then pitta bread with it. Rob and I ordered a meze, which consisted of tzatziki, olives, fava and spiced aubergine dip also served with pitta bread.
Mains, Dougie and Robert had stuffed lamb, which was stuffed with pine nuts feta and slow cooked, very nice. I had the slow cooked pork, again stuffed with pine nuts and feta, wonderful. Ann and Sheryl had the grilled pork, thin slices of pork loin cooked to perfection on the grill. Wayne had village sausage and a plate of wonderful looking and tasting sausage arrived. Samuel had spaghetti and for a child portion was very well satisfied.
Samuel also had a pudding of ice cream.
With the meal we had a bottle of wine, 2 bottles of retsina, 2 coke a cola, and a bottle of water.
The whole cost of this was 100-10 euros, between 7 of us we thought that was excellent value for money.
After the meal they brought us a complimentary plate of peanut brittle, and each of us except for Samuel a glass of cherry brandy.
The Captains Table overlooks the harbour, and at night is just magical. The staff are very good, but not intrusive. Most of them are from Australia and working there for the summer. One of our waitresses had seen the job advertised in London, whilst staying in London from Australia, thought the weather in England was not up to much so applied and flew out for 10 weeks. The owner herself Melinda is from Australia and married Theo the fisherman some years ago.
We would all agree that what you read when you “Google” the Captains Table is correct and we look forward to returning again just to satisfy ourselves that we where right first time.
