A studenty type of place

Advantages: its easy to find
Disadvantages: full of students

The cavendish, this started its life as a car rental place in the middle of a busy pub area, there is a large need for pubs in this area though most of them are taken over by students, the pub is very modern, being quite long in length but narrow and plays decent music, the clientlle are very often students and as far as prices go, they are quite pricy. the pub itself is located on west street, thats just 10 mins walk outside the city center, you ...
...get off at the west street stop or alternativly you can catch the no 52 bus that stops outside the pub (crookes). The good thing about this pub is that it is located on one of the busiest streets in sheffield for night life there are plenty of other pubs and fine restaurants around that catre for evryones special taste. altogether its worth a visit.  ... more

I love Sheffield and so will you

Advantages: great place, great ents facilities, good shopping facilities, 2 universities
Disadvantages: the weather!

Centertainment is an entertainment complex with restaurants like Frankie and Bennys, bars like Brannigans and the UGC cinema complex. All these entertainment and shopping facilities offer great job opportunities, to students also. What else does Sheffield have? A happening night life is one of its better points. It is home to Republic which hosts the legendary Gatecrasher each Saturday, as well as the Leadmill, the Unit, the Roundhouse and even the somewhat cheesy Club Wow. The Union holds some great events each week at Sheffield University, and there are great pubs all around the university such as the Cavendish and the Firkin chain pubs. Sheffield is close to the beautiful Peak District so it is easy to get away to the more natural parts of the country for a break. Sheffield is easily accessible from anywhere, by train (with a big train ...

Review of Sheffield in general

Were not Northern Monkeys.

Advantages: lots of things to do
Disadvantages: transport system can sometimes be a nightmare

year and its originality comes out in midweek when Planet Earth hosts 80's tunes!!! A great club. Newly opened Kingdom is mostly for students and serves cheap beer which is always a good excuse for a night out! Casbah plays rock tunes and is more for the older generation among us and the rockers but everyone to their own. Worldwide renowened club nights Gatecrasher (see seperate opinion) and NY Sushi are also resident in Sheffield. These two are the biggest crowd puller for the city with 'crasher playing the best in trance and Sushi plying the drum/bass tunes. There are many bars in the city, RSVP, Yates, Bar Breeze, T.P. Woods, Bar Coast and Cavendish to name but a few. Whatever your taste in music, you are sure to find it in Sheffield. ----Shopping---- One for all the ladies out there! Their favourite past time has to be shopping ...
