Claremont Hotel, Blackpool

Advantages: Lovely staff, great location, Facilities, Cost!
Disadvantages: Ummm...oh, parking.

We have stayed in both the Claremont Hotel and their Motel apartments, both of which we had a great time. A group of us decided that we would take a trip down to Blackpool during the summer for a weekend stay from Friday - Sunday. We browsed through loads of hotels with one thing in mind - PRICE! For the 2 nights staying at the Motel it cost £75 each - but check the website to get an up to date tariff. The £75 was for the room only - we didn't want to pay for bed and breakfast, we just get breakfast if we fancy it, or are awake when it is being served! The hotel has a Motel in a separate building to the back of the hotel, which is laid out like a block of flats. Pricing of food and drinks from the bar is very fair, but you would be cheaper in a pub (as with most hotels). We went to Blackpool in August, and were lucky to have ...

ONE FOR THE HOTEL INSPECTOR

Advantages: Location, price & views
Disadvantages: Standard of rooms, maintenance issues, no parking & pretty much no standards

Just before I begin my review of The Claremont Lions hotel in Eastbourne I would just like to quote the description of the hotel on its brochure, I hope this is ok I just want to give you an insight into what I was led to believe I was booking into. "Welcome to the Claremont.. A grade 2 Listed Victorian hotel situated in a prime position opposite the pier and famous carpet gardens with its fantastic views across the channel. The Claremont offers an excellent standard of accommodation, food, service and a very warm welcome. In our sea view Compton restaurant we take particular pride in serving meals using the best local ingredients. You will be impressed by the sense of space in the public areas. The rich wood finish and leather Chesterfields give a feeling of a boutique style. There is a new ground floor bar offering service ...

The Preston Experience

Advantages: Very friendly & helpful staff, easy to get to, Nice hotel
Disadvantages: Take your own baby monitor

Back at the beginning of April my husband and I decided that we'd take our 10 month old son up to Preston, Lancashire to show him where his Mama originated from before defecting to the South :o) As it was my Mum's birthday at the same time, we thought it was as good enough excuse to head off 300+ miles in a Northernly direction. ~~~Finding The Details~~~ I found the details through the internet, even though we'd stayed at the Preston Marriott previously, we'd failed to keep hold of the phone number. The details on the website were easy enough to follow. After putting in Preston on the hotel search engine, it quickly took me to a list of all the Preston hotels that they have, I found Preston United Kingdom at the bottom of the list and clicked on to it. After this I was taken to a page that contained a map and a list of other ...
