accommodation in rural & village centre locations. The hotel captures the essence of life in coastal England with a contemporary atmosphere and a refreshingly independent way of thinking - an antidote to faceless global brands so prevalent today. The hotel itself is just ten minutes drive from Dover, yet still ranks as one of White Cliffs Country's best-kept secrets. It's centred around an archetypal Kentish weather-boarded inn that has been sympathetically upgraded to a luxury venue complete with a 'micro spa', a haven of peace and tranquility up above the hotel and restaurant. This is part of a vision to create a unique experience, away from the stresses of the world in a hidden and intimate retreat. The Bay Restaurant, the beating heart of the hotel, is headed up by Gavin Oakley, the creative mastermind behind nearby award-winning Wallett?s Court Country House Hotel. He brings his own brand of imagination and flair that has seen his team win recognition with entries in The Good Food Guide, a 2 rosette award in The AA Best Restaurant Guide and many other plaudits from national and international guides and in the press. PLEASE NOTE: ROOM RATES INCLUDE A NICE AND HEALHTY BUFFET BREAKFAST WHICH COMPRISES OF FRESH FRUIT, YOGHURTS, CEREALS, PASTRIES, TOAST & BREAD, JUICES, HAMS, CHEESES, TEA & COFFEE. A FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST MADE FROM FINEST LOCAL, FREE-RANGE, ORGANIC PRODUCE IS AVAILABLE FOR FIVE POUNDS EXTRA PER PERSON. IF YOU WANT TO SKIP THE HEALTHY BUFFET AND GO FOR THE FRY-UP WE'LL DO IT FOR NOTHING . NOW IS THAT CRYSTAL CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU?

My family and I have stayed at the Cliffs Hotel on 6 occasions, ranging from weekend breaks to full weeks. Why? The hotel is large and well appointed - it has a 1920's feel about the facade and interior and is very clean and spacios. There are 5 bars and a large resturant. The food ... ...on first name terms with the kid's club staff and they remember her (for good reasons I might add). The kids club offers a great range of activities from 10.00 am in the morning right through to 9.00pm at night and its free! The only drawback is that you have to stay in the hotel.
The rooms are well appointed too - all have private facilities and some of the family rooms are large (they accomodate a double bed, single bed, cot and a pram with ease ...

Advantages: Excellent staff - especially at breakfast, reception staff especially Stewart also very helpful and friendly Disadvantages: Food was basic, parking - got blocked in and could not move our own car!
...trip to Blackpool. Attracted by the Cliffs facilities for the money we decided on booking it. Well we were extremely happy, I strongly advised entering the basement, kids soft play area, table tennis, arcade games, pool, snooker, swimming pool and gym! You'd never believe it would all fit down there!
The rooms were clean, the toilets would have been too small to sit on if I was a few dress sizes bigger!!
The food at breakfast was fresh and hot ... ...move our own car!! However the hotel did try it's best and transported us themselves to and from the restaurant we had intended to eat at.
Overall great fun, at little out of town but a tram stop is right outside the front of the hotel and with Blackpools long prom you can walk to the pleasure beach easily. ...

Quick review of The Cliffs Hotel, Blackpool Review ofThe Cliffs Hotel, Blackpoolby

A place where Art Decor meets woodchip. Badly in need of thorough decoration. Preserving Art decor features is not an excuse for painting everything with emulsion including woodwork that should be glossed. Car Parking is terrible and you are better off trying to find a parking place on a side street. Carpets on each of the floors are becoming threadbare, expecially close to doors. Bedding is blankets that I remember from 30 years ago. On a positive note, the food standard is excellent and the staff are attentive and willing to help. Addressing the above concerns would create a fabulous hotel.

I visited the Broadway Hotel in October 2007, and was very disappointed with the standards of accomidation in which the Broadway Hotel had to offer. I have never stayed in such a dirty and poorly presented Hotel, in all the years in which I have visited more
