The Crown of Fountain Street

Advantages: Reasonably priced food and drink in central Manchester
Disadvantages: Horrible toilets

I work just down the street from The Crown and have been a frequent visitor for over 12 years. Since my first visit it has transformed from a grotty side street pub that to its current guise of more up-market lounge bar. ++++++ Layout ++++++ On entering the front doors of the Crown you immediately see the long bar, covering the whole of the back wall, which is directly opposite the doors. To the right is a section of high bar tables, a couple of slot machines and access to the toilets, to the left are the comfy sofas, behind which is the main food seating area, which consists of booths and small tables. +++++++++++ Food & Drink +++++++++++ The food is pretty much traditional pub grub such as steak baguettes, burgers, chips etc but they also have a daily specials board which usually has slightly more adverturous fayre ...

Review of The Crown

Crowne Plaza deserves another Crown

Advantages: 4 Star hotel, Situated in good location, Friendly staff, Beautiful hotel, Good hotel facilities
Disadvantages: Expensive

a nice feel to them you can feel the build quality in the rooms the beds are comfortable the desk is made from oak tree they look and feel great. One thing that I usually find with hotel room bathrooms is that they are small and in fact too small I feel like I don?t have enough space to stand in them and that it cannot be comfortable. However the bathrooms in the Crowne Plaza are perfect they just look beautiful and posh. I had enough space to stand around; I had space to put my clothes and enough room to shave without banging into the mirror I guess you can get my point. Bed and breakfast As part of the deal that I got was evening meal and breakfast included with the rooms (We had to pay for drinks) but it was a very good deal. We went down for dinner and were greeted by a very helpful member of staff who took us to a table ...

Thomas Crown Affair

Advantages: A fun film with a great soundtrack and superb remake
Disadvantages: Can get a bit dull at times

I wasn't too keen on seeing this film when I looked at the box, but was eventually persuaded to watch it by my mum and I actually really enjoyed this film and see it as one of my favourite films! I am normally into more action or war type films, but this is nothing like this and is very different to the norm for me but yet still a great film and worth a watch. This film is actually a remake from the original in 1968 and is about Thomas Crown - a rich billionaire who owns a massive company. However he gets very bored being this rich and needs to find something to do to occupy himself. For example he crashes a very expensive catamaran and bets thousands of pounds on a golf swing for the fun of it. These are still not enough of a challenge for him - so he decides to steal a famous painting by Monet from this art gallery. Crown, who is ...
