LOCATION Best hotel in London? Yes ok it's a sweeping statement but I truely believe that it is. It is pricey but lets face it there's no such thing as a good cheap hotel in London (and we have found that haggling works!) The Cumberland is situated in Marble Arch on the top end of Oxford street - probably one of the most central hotels in London. Most places are walkable but if your feet get easily tired it's about a 30 second walk to Marble Arch tube station or the hotel has comissionaires to hail your your own personal taxi!
THE HOTEL As you step into the hotel you know that it is something special, the lobby is huge with a large seating area, 2 restaurants, a shop and an information desk which can give you all the tourist information you need, as well as book last minute theatre tickets.
THE RESTAURANTS The hotel has two restaurants an oriental restaurant and a brasserie where the famous Cavery is served every day. This is my big hint - even if you can't afford to stay at the hotel the EARLY BIRD DINER is a must, FOR UNDER £10 you can enjoy 4 courses of the finest carvery - and the bonus is that you can EAT AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE! This is perfect for pre-theatre eating out.
THE ROOMS The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and have all the facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Nice review. I stayed at this hotel whilst refurbishment was taking place and it looked as if it was going to be great (The bedrooms were already refurbed and fantastic) - obviously it is great.
