Advantages: Beautiful but unsung corner of Scotland Disadvantages: Staying alive on the A75
...as it and the West Coast Main (Railway) Line weave in and out of each other as they compete for the flattest ground passing through the Cumbrian Mountains prior to Carlisle.
After leaving the M6 and driving along the A75 towards our final goal, I felt a case of déjà-vu. The road was strangely similar to my more usual autumn drive towards Barrow along the south side of Lakeland. It was almost as if Mother Nature was just practising with Morecambe Bay and South Lakeland before moving on to grander things, in this case, The Solway Firth and Dumfries & Galloway Region. The scenery alternated between decidedly craggy and green and rolling, just like The Lakes and Grange-Over-Sands, only spread over an area three times larger.

...of this.
We have tried to inform the General Manager of our complaints
but get constantly told that he was in meetings.
We have also informed head office complaints department to be told that someone would get back to us.We are still wating.
Dont buy a caravan on this park until it gets its act together.
I will let you know next season if any improvements have been made.Lakeland is situated approx 20 mins drive from Jct 36 of the M6 motorway. It is approx 10mins drive from GrangeoverSands and approx 25-30 mins drive from Lake Windemere
The caravan site is not too easy to get to via public transport, therefore I would suggest that you will require a car.
The caravan site is not open throughout the year....

Advantages: You do not have to be fit - most can easily complete it Disadvantages: Not recommended for the disabled with walking difficulties
...For an unusual activity try walking on water - or the nearest you can get to it. The walks start at Arnside in Lancashire and crosses Morcombe Bay to Kents Bank near GrangeoverSands in Cumbria. The area is famous for it's sand flats which are crossable at low tide, the only problem being the quicksand which is where the guide comes in. Dating back to the middle ages when the monks made their pilgramage to Cartmel Priory they saved a days travelling by crossing the sands. In later years the monarch appointed an official guide to lead travellers across and these more recently have become sponsored walks in aid of charity. We completed a walk recently in aid of Lions charities and nearly 500 people turned up and all completed the walk which can be 9 to 10 miles depending on where the quicksand is. It is not an arduous walk but you...

Moon sand claims to be 'sand that moulds like dough', it is not exactly wet, just made in a way that makes it mould like it is, whilst never drying out (as it is not actually wet, if that makes... more
