The Explorers Hotel is located on the Disneyland Paris site and is one of three hotels constructed about 1km from the Disney owned hotels. It contains 390 rooms accommodating up to 6 persons and there is a free shuttle bus service to and from the Disneyland Theme Park Gates, which are about 3km away.

The Explorers has a "pirates" style theme with a large indoor pool that has two slides, a play area built in the shape of a sailing ship, a children's play area that’s ideal for under six year olds with lots of swing ropes, climbing walls and netted softballs to jump into.

The Hotel offers 3 restaurants, 2 bars and 3 meeting rooms. There is a separate, full service restaurant called the "Captains Library", the self service “Plantation” Restaurant and a breakfast room. Bars for the adults include the "Smugglers Tavern" and “Traders Café Bar”. To keep the kids content there is a special children's menu available in the restaurants and also a pizza takeaway. Every attention has been taken to making kids happy and continental breakfast is included for both adults and children..

The “crew” rooms for 4 have one double bed and two single beds. The six berth “crew” rooms are slightly larger and have a double bed, two twins and bunk beds (suitable for children up to 15 years old) in an alcove area. All the bedrooms have one en suite bathroom with hairdryer, bath and shower over, washbasin and WC, and they also have a ceiling fan, satellite TV with pay videos and games.

“Officer” rooms offer all the features of “crew” rooms plus tea and coffee making facilities, a special toiletry pack and a surprise gift for each child. Suites are ideal for those who like a bit more luxury.

Features of the Explorers Hotel include:
Free shuttle bus to Disney Parks
Hotel Car Park
Children's corner
Video games room
Children's menu
Disney Shop
Concierge and information desk
Currency exchange
Hotel shop
Themed suites
ATM machine
Luggage room
Public telephone

My family have stayed at the Explorers twice now, in both Crew and Officer Rooms. We like the family friendly atmosphere, which is specially designed for children and the strong theming which provides fun throughout the hotel. Basing the hotel on the age of Exploration provides a unique ambience.

The shuttle is regular and takes less than ten minutes to reach the Disney Parks, but at busy times queuing can be problematic. On one occasion we did walk from the park entrance to the hotel and it took over an hour, and this is not something you’d want to do in the rain.

The Hotel is close to the railway station for train travel to Paris (or the UK) and less than an hour from the airport. It is priced competitively and enables the Disneyland Paris Resort to be visited in an affordable way. For family orientated accommodation this hotel is wonderful and I fully recommend it, however, if you are after a quieter holiday this probably isn’t the location for you.

Good review - would love some more info on pricing etc but since this was your first review its great (mine was perfectly dreadful). I think if you're after a quiet holiday then Disney probably isn't for you at any hotel!!
