In the middle of the resort there is a replica town of early Johannesburg where you may be treated to live music, traditional African dances or delicious food. Advantages: Friendly staff, great location, excellent garden & bbq area

...We have stayed on and off at Africa's Zoo Lodge over the last couple of weeks and are suitably impressed. The lodge has been revamped over the last year or so. The staff is helpful, the location perfect to explore Johannesburg and the facilities clean. What more can one ask for when looking for budget accommodation! In between our stays, all beds, even the dorm beds, were fitted with new mattresses and bedding, including sheets, duvets, duvet covers and pillows. A bbq was organised for everybody to participate in on Friday nights. Security is tight with a high wall topped by an electric fence. Everybody ringing the bell was screened before the gate was opened and anybody was allowed to enter. I can only rcommend this establishment to fellow travellers looking for budget and safe accommodation in Johannesburg... Read review
