Advantages: Great drum build. Disadvantages: Will need extra spending on it in order to get it up to scratch.
disgusting sounds resembling baked bean cans being hit. The Pearl Forum I feel is infinitely better than other starter kits on the market and looks fairly smart with it's black coating. Although I say black coating as this is the colour of mine, the Pearl Forum comes in a number of other colours including Deep Blue, Charcoal, and Red Wine.
For £500 your money will provide you with:
- 22x18 bass drum
- 12x9 & 13x10 mounted toms
- 16x16 floor tom
- 14x5.5 wood snare drum
- 14" hi-hats
18" Pearl Crash/Ride cymbal
The build quality of the drums themselves is great and they still look as strong now as they did back when I bought them a few years back. Although the build quality of the drums themselves is good, you will find that the Pearl drum skins you are provided with aren't particularly great and so you may find that the heads ...
A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum! What a place this is! It is huge and many pieces of stone are laying on the floor to get a close look at. There are areas which are still standing and overall it is a beautiful sight to see. You can sit in the shade and eat or drink and just take in what life must have been like here two thousand odd years ago!
Although it is a very open site, there are generally not that many people viewing as perhaps you might need an interest in archaeology to enjoy the site a bit more, although I don't think it is essential. A small amount of imagination will bring the place to life! You can almost imagine the people roaming around in their Toga's and chariots!
Well worth a visit and probably one of my favourite sights in Rome because it is so unspoilt. ...
Advantages: A lifetime of sights to see, excellent transport, amazing ice cream Disadvantages: Very busy
the scenes that went on here as you walk around the tiers, which held 50,000 spectators, and view the underground system of cells, where the gladiators and animals were kept before battle. From the viewing platform, the Forum and the Arch of Constantine stand before you, both of which are in easy walking distance, and are free to look around. Outside several "gladiators" are waiting to have their picture taken with you for a fee, but unfortunately none of them are quite in the shape of Russell Crowe.
Other gems of Rome include:
Early evening on the Spanish steps (Piazza di Spagna), where people gather to sit and enjoy the sun setting and the scent of the beautiful flowers planted alongside the steps.
The Church of the Immaculate Conception (Via Vittario Veneto): a series of small chapels feature the bones and skulls of thousands ...
