Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow

Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none

I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend. The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home. The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep. We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice. Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from ...

Review of Premier Travel Inn Glasgow - City Centre (Charing Cross), Glasgow

The Fountain - Fabulous

Advantages: Phenomenal Plot, Gorgeous Special Effects, Top Class Acting,
Disadvantages: Dark/Depressing, Confusing Plot

The Fountain is a rather little-known film due to it running into problems with funding and budget, therefore not gaining a significant amount of publicity and also had a hitch when the proposed lead for the film (Brad Pitt) turned-down the part of main character. These two problems faced in the early stages of the film, although understandably seemingly rather gloomy for the future prospects of the film, turned-out to merely add to the fantastic experience that was had whilst watching 'The Fountain'. Hough Jackman was eventually cast to the role of lead which, in my opinion, ultimately helped the film itself, Jackman added something to the film with his clearly evident acting ability, something that I felt Pitt (as good of an actor as he is, also) wouldn't have given. The film itself has received mixed reviews from lots of different ...

Review of The Fountain (Blu-Ray)

Three cons and a fountain

Advantages: A must see in Rome
Disadvantages: It's only a fountain

Ah, the Trevi Fountain. Some would say that it's the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome. Well, I wouldn't know about that - not having visited all 7,000 of them. Ok, that's maybe an exagerration, but there are quite a few of the old fontanas dotted around the eternal city. One thing's for sure though, it's certainly an impressive site...or sight, even. You would think that such a world famous and much visited tourist attraction would be situated in some grand piazza or boulevard. You'd be wrong. It's actually tucked away at the meeting point three nondescript road (tre vie) in a little square called, somewhat unimaginatively, Piazza del Trevi. Perhaps the mundane stroll through narrow streets before encountering this masterpiece of baroque architecture is part of its appeal...perhaps not. But it's definitely a gobsmacker. You ...
