Advantages: Fantastic little venue with a HUGE personality! Disadvantages: Drinks can be pricey! (Therefore go during Happy hour!)

Liscence til 3am!
HOW TO GET THERE:

DOOR POLICY: This club is over 18 and ID may be required. However, from the looks of it they aren't that strict (especially before 11pm) as many of my friends looks quite young and none of us, neither guys or girls were asked for id. HOW TO GET THERE: Get out at 'Covent Garden' station (Picadilly Line) and turn left, heading towards the old market square. After about 50 or so metres you'll see a small venue door to your left with a small sigh saying "Gardening Club" above the door!

THE CLUB: The club is situated beneath the Rock Garden restaurant. You in through the doors, pay at a little booth on your left, then continue down some stairs to the main club. The area downstairs is actually quite small. The decor seems quite modern but plain. Many of the walls being plain brick with various wooden trimmings. Before 11pm the venue is a bar/cafe. You can order small snack foods and as far as im aware theres a 2 for 1 on all bar foods on Tuesdays!(E.g BIG bowl of chips £3, which comes to £1.50 per bowl) The drinks are also cheaper (us poor students are very greatful for the understanding that-we dont have a lot of momey to go out partying!) Before 10pm cocktails are £3.50, pint pitchers of cocktails £7.50 (BARGAIN!!!) and bottled drinks and mixers (e.g vodka and coke) are £1.50. Im not too sure of the prices after 10pm as one barman said the prices are twice as much, but the other barman seemed to think that the cheap prices were valid all night (clearly we stuck with this barman!). The venue has a small stage with a projection screen. This has a soothing screen saver type image displayed during the evening, and becomes a bit more psychadelic once the club gets going.
At 11pm the barmen politely excuse you from your tables and comfy wooden chairs and the dancefloor is cleared ready for 4hours of non stop dancing. A live DJ to the right played a mix of great hip hop, rnd and old skool which all went down really well. He attempted playing a bit of weird trance- realised we ALL sat down- cut that set short and returned to the chart tunes remixed in a very cooool way! The disco lights and ball also came down and the atmosphere was really awesome! Around the edge of the club there are various seats and black leather sofas and if those are taken- the stage has always got plenty of room to rest on! The clientel here were mostly students and I have to say that for a change many guys were good looking AND non - sleezy! However, clubbing would not be complete without the odd sleez-bag who never gets the hint "NO-get away from me!" I also noticed that there was approx a ration of 2:1 or even 3:1 of guys to girls- which also was a change from the norm! All in all the night was a great success! I highly recommend this club night for all you students!
Extra info! There is a cloakroom avail at £1 per item. There is also a separate room linking to the club which has its own private bar that can be hired out for parties etc.
Advantages: Latest Dance music, great atmosphere. Disadvantages: Not the nicest looking club once inside.
The Gardening Club, is situated in London's Covent Garden. This place regularly hosts some of the best DJs in London, playing the most upfront and underground Dance music. The music varies - find out what they're playing before you go. When I last went they were playing lots of breakbeat. I think it costs £12 to get in, although concessions are available. Once inside you'll see that the club holds only a few hundred people but everyone there is up ... ...lots of space to dance. The interior is typical of Covent Garden - it's underground, with lots of bare brickwork. You might find yourself dancing between brick pillars. So nothing too posh, but that doesn't spoil the atmosphere. There's an excellent sound system and good lighting. ...

Advantages: Cheap and affordable Disadvantages: rude Bouncers really put you off the club
...apparently a real hit with the students especially on wednesdays and tuesdays, I simply cannot remember when, but drinks then are 1 pound the whole night through and it really is a great place to party for a reasonable amount of money. Also, if you go before 8:30 entrance charges are waive and you get to go in free. It is centrally located right next to the covent garden markets and you cannot miss it. It makes for a nice cup of coffee in the afternoon ... ...Garden but there is! Still, the management should pack the whole lot of their bouncers and send them for a course in public manners and social graces. It is simply appalling at how racist and rude and insenstive some of them are towards minority groups and females who ask politely for them to stop shouting. ...

...experience trying to get into the Gardening Club this past Friday night (28 Nov 08). I had my name on the guest list along with three of my friends and on arrival one very negative door lady decided not to let us in. There were two other people covering the door that night (both men) who were happy to let us in, but this lady just didn't want to let us in the club. Her reasoning was we were too intoxicated, which was a load of rubbish. We are four ... ...before arriving to the club, which I think is hardly intoxicated. The door lady told us to go and have a coffee and return, so as we really wanted to enjoy an evening in the club - we did as she asked. We returned to find that as we were about to enter to the club the second time, she told the other lady on the door (who had the clipboard) that the club capacity was full. We said we were happy to wait! We waited approx 15 minutes and then the lady ...

Quick review of The Gardening Club (London)
I had provided the club with a guest list of 25 people and told them we would be arriving at around 10.30pm. We arrived (late!) and stood there waiting for 20 minutes without much happening. I approached the doormen and told them we had a guest list, but he said we had to wait until people came out from the club for us to be able to enter. This could mean waiting 0 minutes or 1 hour. So all of us just left and our evening was spoiled. Make sure you book a table- in our case there were none available. ...

Advantages: happy hour and a fun filled night Disadvantages: it gets busy early so get there early or get on the guest list
We ventured to The Gardening Club to try Flirt and then learnt about Diva on Thursday nights. Flirt on Tuesday has a half price happy hour where cocktails, bottles of wine, beer and food all feature until 10pm. Diva on Thursday goes one better and has all the same half price offers until midnight. It was free for us girls and you could tell that everyone had made a good effort to look good and have a great fun time. I tried loads of cocktails at ...

Advantages: Greenery, flowers, well maintained lawns to sit on Disadvantages: Gets a bit busy on a sunny lunchtime
I work near Liverpool Street station and there's not much greenery in the near vicinity to remind you that you don't live in a concrete jungle. Around the corner from the station is Finsbury Circus, in the middle of which is a garden, maintained by the Corporation of London, and in the middle of that is a crown green bowling green, of all things - the oldies in the City of London bowling club spend afternoons there. In summer, bright young things from the surrounding offices sit out on the grass and eat sandwiches and chat to friends, sunbathe or read books. I use it as my route to and from the office and Moorgate station - lovely flowers, peaceful atmosphere and some 'interesting' sculptures. ...
Advantages: lots to see and do. Disadvantages: can get quite expensive if you want to shop and eat well.
Covent Garden is perhaps with certain people synonymous with London. It is inarguably one of the most visited and loved places of London.
It boasts of great shopping, great food, great pubs, great clubs and great location. It is just minutes walk from wherever you may choose to visit after having seen Covent Garden. Other places that are within walking distance from Covent Garden include Leceister Square, Picadilly Circus, The Strand, Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street perhaps and of course, Soho. Any wrong turn you take may just lead you to any one of those above mentioned places, which is actually quite pleasant. Getting lost in Covent Gardens or around it is quite a positive experience.
Choose your entertainment from pure shopping either at the Jubilee Market or Covent Garden Market or from top designer brand names just close by ...
