Once I had taken in the horror of a £100 a night Gatewayhotel room I picked up the room phone to call reception. Silly of me to expect the phone to work. So I found the telephone number and called reception from my mobile, and asked nicely to be put in another room that didn't stink of fags. After my second call they promised to call me back.
I waited and watched sky sports on the tiny TV with the broken remote. Every 60 seconds or so the screen would go blank and then pop back to the correct channel. I gave up waiting and walked to reception, where they said that they did call me back but I didn't answer (the phone didn't work remember)

I recently spent a night at the Gateway to Wales hotel at Sealand. I choice the hotel because it was in a good location for exploring Wales and to visit the City of Chester.
The hotel is situated just off the A548 on the B5129 Qeensferry road.
The hotels car park is spacious but visitors are warned that they park their car there at their own risk. On entering the hotel you can not miss the reception, and the receptionist was pleasant and well organized. We were told our room number and given a card key for the room and an electric key to open the corridors leading to our room, the electric key only opens the doors leading to your room and not the other corridor doors that lead to other rooms.
The room we had was a double bedded room with TV, coffee and tea making equipment. There was plenty of storage room with a dressing table ...

I recently had the task of travelling to Charlotte North Carolina on Business, my hotel of choice was the Doubletree in the Gateway Village on West Trade Street.
As with most long trips from the UK to the States you always seem to be travel tiered when you arrive. This trip was no exception. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Cab ride from the airport to the Doubletree was only a 15 minute ride and at a cost of $15. If you were planning to drive then it is not far from the freeway at all.
From the outside the hotel looks like any other but does have a clean and tidy appearance and a little class about it. It is located in the main campus of the university but don't let that put you off. There are not ...
