Advantages: Great nightclubs, great food, international city Disadvantages: Some places(south east DC)are dangerous
...WashingtonDC is the nations capital of the US and it is strategically located in between the states of Maryland and Virginia to form what is called the WashingtonDC Metropolitan area. You could get into the general area through either Dulles international Airport or the Reagan National Airport. The Reagan National airport is closer to the city and you could catch the metro train to take you downtown. As a matter of fact getting around the whole WashingtonDC metropolitan area is easy with the train service. If you want nightlife there are so many places.Just head down towards the Georgetown area and there will be many nightclubs and bars that you could go to especially during the weekends. If you want some site seeing head towards the Washington Mall(great site),the white house and the capital hill building is just aroud the corner...

There are around two dozens of Embassies, Ambassadors' private residences, and international societies. The upper end of Embassy Row, behind Sheridan Circle, leads through Rock Creek Park and is very nice for short afternoon walks in the green.
#25; Georgetown
The other part of town which is excellent for going out, shopping and some sightseeing is Georgetown, located in the west of the DC area. Washington Harbour is a nice marina on Potomac River with several cafes from which you can enjoy a nice view across the river to the skyline...
