Gibside

Advantages: Lovely day out
Disadvantages: Some areas difficult for disabled visitors

Another National Trust property and one which I visit quite often because this is really close to my house...about 5 minutes in the car. WHAT TO SEE... There's plenty to see and do if you enjoy country estates. There is a chapel which was built in the mid 1700s as a mausoleum for George Bowes, and this was apparantly in the Palladium style. If this means lots of pillars and something quite out of character based on where it is, and the other buildings round it, then I'll go with that. Leading from the chapel is a long wide grassy area, great for children to run about on , and this, not surprisingly is the Long walk which passes the walled Garden Green House, Gibside Hall and The Stables (these stables incorporate meeting rooms, anm can accommodate school visits). Continue along the walk and you arrive at the Column to Liberty ...

+Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle+ One a recent trip too Newcastle , i needed someplace to stay and this hotel looked good. + The location + Perfect Location for myself as I arrived into Newcastle by Train and your turn right at the train station and your there , no taxi needed. + First look + The hotel reception area is very nice , with this amazing light ficture which is so sparkly. The rception staff are very friendlly aswel. It looks very nice for a 3 star hotel , i would give it 4 easy! + The room + Nice room , spacious and they gave me free water and a biscuit , nice touch. There was a en -suite bathroom and a view. There was also room service option. + others + this hotel had a swimming pool , which i never used but it's allways good to have. you had to pay for breakfast seperate which was pricey so i just went to the greggs ...

royal station hotel

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --

****Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle**** Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic, nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel. There is loads of places to eat nearby, plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby and would take about 10 minutes to walk too. **Reception/staff** The hotel looks really nice from the outside-a grand looking building.Reception looks really nice with big chandlers hanging from the ceiling and there are two lifts.Staff were nice and i had the option of paying straight away or when i checked out. **Hotel/Room** The room i stayed in was a twin room and it had ...
