Advantages: Intimate venue attracting big names - audience photography allowed. Disadvantages: Two shows on a Saturday night - so choose carefully!
The Grand Ole Opry is recorded infront of a studio audience in Nashville, Tenessee and goes out every week on radio and television. We visited in the autumn when The Grand Ole Opry was 'at home' - its purpose built modern venue between The Gaylord Opryland resort hotel and Opry Mills, a large shopping mall. There is ample free parking. However, in the wintertime the show is recorded from The Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville and I don't know ... ...our tickets three days before the show and it had almost sold out. The seats we were allocated still had a great view and as the acoustics in the building are fabulous where you are seated should not be too great a concern. Our 'Opry' experience began waiting on the square infront of the building for the doors to open. We were entertained by a number of costumed characters and a live band who played audience requests with gusto. Once the doors opened ...

I bought my cherry red 2005 Nashville Tele from a New Jersey guitar dealer because it looked like a bargain - second hand, but new condition. It cost $389. After paying for postage and import duty, it cost me about £340 overall.
