an inn The Green Man in the tradition of many old buildings is reported to have had at least one ghost. Dr. Thomas Underhill a 17th-century Doctor of Divinity was rumoured to have been the perpetrator of a number of unsavoury crimes not least of them being the horrific murder of his wife and his spirit is said to haunt the medieval restaurant. Maurice however believes only in the spirits which come out of a whisky bottle and uses the tale of Dr. Underhill and his associated ghosts simply as a spine-chilling 'hors d'oeuvre' in his already successful restaurant. Only his teenage daughter Amy and daughter-in-law Lucy believe that there is something more to Maurice's ravings than delirium tremens alone. Obsessed by the concept of death and the exciting prospect of inner peace and immortality assured by Underhill Maurice overlooks the single and most important thing in his life - and in Underhill's death - something very precious which Underhill had contrived to take from him at the outset. The true horror of Underhill is then revealed.

sqarely on the back of Alastair Simms' disgruntled criminal mastermind. Planning to assassinate a windbag MP, his dastardly plot is embroiled in a comedy of errors when George Cole's vacuum cleaning demonstration turns up a corpse in the piano at Simms' Windyridge cottage. Teaming up with the long-legged neighbour Cole tracks down the bomb to a secret hideaway for the MP--a pub called the Green Man. This is the sort of masterful comedy that deftly gets away with confusing the audience who are never sure whose side they should be cheering. When Simms' carefully timed explosive device threatens to decimate a lounge bar trip of old dears, it is hilarious fun to be manipulated into hoping he can speed up their performance enough to whisk them to the safety of a gin and tonic elsewhere. This is a gem in both British comedy and the great Alastair Simms treasury. --Paul Tonks

Expert. He hasn't been getting too many assignments recently but his latest mission will put him back on the top of his profession. However he stalks the wrong target blowing up a boring politician instead and now he must pay the price for his breezy bungling in this murderously funny black comedy!
Advantages: Its open Disadvantages: Smelly pub, Rude incompetent staff who should not be in the hospitality business
...Yesterday we visited The GreenMan. Firstly the decor is not great and it smells. With the smoking ban in place and no cigarette smoke to hide the stale beer and dirt in the carpet, pubs need to operate some kind of cleaning policy, The GreenMan doesnt seem to have one. Secondly, when ordering 2 drinks coming to approx £4 and a starter at £4.25 I dont expect someone to ask for £35! What then became a problem was when I questioned the bill and the Bar Worker told me that was correct. When I further questioned it I was told "If I wanted to be sarcastic I could leave now". Of course I siezed the wonderful opportunity being offered and shot off to another pub where staff are at least capable of some basic math, and the carpets are cleaned occasionally.
Highly UN-recommended....

Advantages: Good value, lots to see Disadvantages: Beach was a bit dissapointing
...was lovely. Being in such close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef it would have been almost criminal not to go and have a look but my friend and I had different ideas of what we were looking for in a reef trip. I was looking for a boat trip with some snorkelling, I wasn't too bothered about doing a dive but I thought a snorkel was a must. My friend on the other hand is not a big fan of snorkelling or diving and she was looking for maybe a glass bottom boat or something of that nature. I was confidant we would find something that would meet both of our requirements so I went and spoke to our very helpful receptionist at the resort and amongst some others she gave be a flyer for Big Cat Cruises to Green Island.
Green Island was formed by a build up of sand on a coral cay. Over the years, between the birds and the wind, the seeds...

Advantages: Good location, good customer service Disadvantages: A little "faded grandeour" and maybe TOO good customer service!
...I am a resident of Hereford and this summer organized my wedding. This meant that I got to know quite a lot about the hotels in the area, despite rarely requiring them myself!
The green dragon is a hotel right in the centre of Hereford. There is no need to get a taxi anywhere central from the Green Dragon. I would say it is about 30 seconds walk from the Cathedral and 2 minutes walk from Marks and Spencers (I always think that is a good marker of the middle of the shops!) The hotel is extremely traditional looking from the outside, with a 19th century facade. There is parking to the rear of the hotel - which is probably worth the room fee alone to get a space in central Hereford! The hotel also has bars, a restauraunt and several function rooms.
I first went to the green dragon to meet a friend who was staying there, for a drink...
