Aaah, the Grove - probably the finest pub in Lenton, wood panelling; good beer; friendly bar staff etc,etc. A good mix of students and locals, with students usually in the majority (well, this is Lenton). Good proper beer - try the Theakstons or the Bombadier. Decent food - try the nachos or the chicken wraps, nice chips too - especially when topped with cheese and bacon! It's a proper pub with proper beer, proper seating and (gasp) proper (friendly) locals to dilute the student population! A recent overhaul of the menu has seen prices fall and yet the quality of the burgers has to be experienced to be believed. The money you save can be well-spent on some of the fine guest ales (recent examples include Summer Lightning, London Pride, Deuchars IPA) that are usually available.
