I visited the Highdown Hotel on 27th Jan 09 for a lunctime carvery meal. Normally the price for this is under £7 per head but this time they were having an offer at £5 per head.

The carvery offers four or five types of meat which is served to you by the chef. One is permitted to choose up to two of them. You can help yourself to ... ...the vegetables is very poor. Not fresh, too soft, overcooked. Regardless of the meal price vegetables are not hard to cook well!

Before Christmas when I last visited I was served a pint of blackcurrent and lemonade. Now they will only sell half pints and say it is their policy to do so......... Does anyone know why? It makes no sense to me! ... more

Although representing value for money sometimes the quality of the vegetables is very poor. Not fresh, too soft, overcooked. Regardless of the meal price vegetables are not hard to cook well!
