Bar Risa is another one of the bars that sprouted from the disused area of the Canal in the mid 90's. It is situated in the old British Waterways building along with Living Well gym and the newest pub Lloyds No 1.
In the summer and Bank Holidays the canal is the place to be as outside seating is plentiful and there is an eclectic mix of people nearby.
The canal is one of the best areas for bars in Nottingham. I count seven within about 500 meters of each other starting from Fellow?s Morton & Clayton one end and the Irishcentre the other.
Bar Risa is also on the same property as Jongleurs comedy club which is upstairs and open until 2am (It turns into a club after 11!). I have often (occasionally) been to Bar Risa after work and at first I was very taken with the place. Originally the patrons were all very up market, Solicitors ...
