It has grassy areas for sun bathing and playing frisbee in and even has a skate park/recreational area for the kids to play in. There is an amount of trees you can sit ... ...that they were destroyed by the great storm of 1987.
During the summer, usually in June/July a fair plonks itself down on the level and many other festivals and events have been at the Level, such as Brighton Pride before it out grew the venue.
It is a place where many people go to practice various outdoors activities such as Capoera the Brazillian martial art, football, frisbee, running and even bongo playing. more

There is an amount of trees you can sit under during sunny weather or rainy days! However there used to be lots more, but I am told that they were destroyed by the great storm of 1987.

If you find yourself at the level and what an impromptu picnic there is a small sainsburys nearby on London Road, or you can always pop into one of the many bars in the area to quench your thirst.
How to get there
There are many buses you can hop on to get to The Level including the No. 5 and No. 49. Just ask for a ticket to the Open Market which is just over the road from The Level. Fares are currently in the region of £1 per journey.

There are several legends attached to the rocks and how they got their name. Some believe that they are named after the mediaeval pirate Henry Payne but another popular theory is that Harry was none other than the devil himself.
The chalk sea-stacks of Old Harry rocks are the most easterly point of Purbeck. The cliffs that lead to the stacks are known as Handfast Point, and they are nearly vertical cliffs of some 100 - 180 feet high.
Old Harry was widowed in 1896 when Old Harry's Wife succumbed to erosion and collapsed into the sea during the same storm that destroyed the chain pier at Brighton.
Parson's Barn is a large sea-level cavern below the main cliff and the waves have cut arches through the base of the stacks ...

packed on weekends, and the lifts are very small, and if anyone like me has young children and a buggy then we do have to wait a while to get in the lift to get to the next level.
There should be more lifts really.
Another good advantage its in the centre of Brighton, so its easy to access.
It makes a great day out, as my children love to visit the pier after and go on the rides.
Living in Cheltenham now, I have other shopping malls to go exploring in. Im off to the Bullring in Birmingham tomorrow :O)
