It's certainly the first place I would think of to have a celebratory meal, ... ...out as French cuisine, nowadays the food is mainly modern British / brassiere style. Expect to pay between £3-£8 for starters, £11-£20 for mains and about £4 for deserts although they do serve Sunday lunch menus and early bird offers for lower prices (example price 3 courses for £15.95). Most of the mains are sufficient that you do not need to order extra sides but they are all priced at £2.95 should you be feeling extra hungry!

"The food"
Having started out as French cuisine, nowadays the food is mainly modern British / brassiere style.
If I listed everything good on the menu this would be a very long review indeed :) So let me just say that in my experience they specialise in Scallops, Steak, Salmon and Sticky Toffee Pudding. In fact my friend came back from the Caribbean and said that the Scallops at the Lime Tree were far better than the ones she had there! There are usually a couple of fish dishes and at least one vegetarian dish on the mains menu at any time. I generally order fish or vegetarian meals in restaurants so it's perfect for me. Their salmon is always meltingly soft (it's easy to overcook salmon making it as tough as old boots).
I have been there so many times now and have developed a trust in the place. I know that whatever I order, even if it's not my usual thing, it will be cooked to perfection. One example that springs to mind is their sticky toffee pudding. Now I'm of the opinion that if a desert isn't chocolate, it's wasted calories! This is because I am a total chocoholic but one time my friend ordered sticky toffee pudding which has never appealed to me - just not a fan of toffee at all so would never have ordered it. One spoonful later and the chocolate was history! Biting into the lightest sponge with warm velvety toffee sauce set off with some vanilla ice cream...YUM I can still taste it now! Beautifully cooked without being overly rich or sweet, it was nothing short of divine!
The wine list is extensive and covers produce from several regions. Bottles start at £15.50 but they do offer half bottles as well as wine by the glass. A decent selection of champagne is available for those in a particularly celebratory mood! Beers and spirits, coffee and liqueurs are also on the menu, in fact the desert menu suggest a liqueur to compliment each choice!
"The Restaurant"
The atmosphere is just lovely. The restaurant is split into two - the main part has the bar in it and a fireplace giving it a really cosy feel - it's lovely to sit there in winter and the use of tea lights and dimmed lighting makes you feel like you are shutting the wintry world out!
In the summertime I prefer to sit in the conservatory area which is very light and bright. the entire side of the conservatory is decorated with tiny fairy lights which makes it magical once the night start's drawing in.
The one area I think could be improved upon is their outside dining.
There is a small dining area at the front of the restaurant for around 4 or five small tables which is okay but not the best as it's on the main road. Also it doesn't get the sun therefore feels quite dark and shady - not my cup of tea I'm afraid so I avoid it. I feel like it's a shame for them because I'm sure they lose custom because of it - people like to make the most of the pitiful summer we get in this great country of ours!! Having said that, I have never been here when it's not at least 3/4 full so they are clearly not suffering. Also they do open all the doors so the inside doesn't get too stuffy.
"Other general info"
- Parking is pretty difficult particularly on weekends due to the proximity of so many other restaurants and bars in what is essentially a residential area so be prepared or take a taxi.
- Booking is essential and definitely recommended well in advance, again particularly for weekends. It's mega popular and people do tend to drive from way outside the area to see the reputation of the Lime Tree for themselves.
- Service has always been excellent in my experience. Courteous and neither rushed nor too slow.

Advantages: Excellent Quality Good and atmosphere Disadvantages: Must book in advance for evening meals
...You can catch the early bird 3 course meal for about £15 follow by a coffee. The average price for a main course is about £10. You'll be spoilt for choice in selecting a wine because the list is endless. You can any wine from many parts of the world. I would recommend The Lime Tree to anyone who want to have good quality food especially for the special occasion. But book in advance if you want to have an evening meal.
The diners tend to be couples ...

Parking:
The park has a Free car park, this carpark has plenty of space and has an extra area if needed.
Animals:
The park has a wide selection of animals including tigers, crocodiles, gibbons, birds, wild cats, otters plus plenty more for you to see. I love the pot bellied pigs they just have lovely little personalities.
The swamp house: I have never been to a zoo or wildlife park and seen something as amazing as the swamp house. Be warned its very hot, lovely in cold weather. The Swamp house was built for crocodiles, so its as close to their environment as possible. The swamp house also house's snakes and Lizards.

Louviers is a town i visited which is full of so much character. It is an ancient blanket making town, therefore many canals run through it. the houses are beautiful made half out of timber dated at the 12th century. I was amzed by the atmosphere of the town, the old houses and the canals, you could imagine what it was like in the 12th century as a busy blanket manufacturing town.
I visited a park in Beaumesil in the North west of Normandie. The park, parc du chateaux, had a chateaux next to it, but i was so amazed by the park i didn't get to see much of it. The park was made up of lots of french-style gardens designed by La Quintnie. Lots of mirror lakes, water spouts and two beautiful rows of two century old limetrees. Also breath taking Milady's garden, made up of roses, lots of flowers and magnificent ...
