I'd heard so much about this musical in the press and i was really looking forward to seeing it. It happens to be the most expensive show in the West End (£40 is the cheapest ticket) but i actually wasn't paying on this occasion which was handy! We were sat in the centre and about half way down the Royal Circle in seats with ample leg room. The Lyceum isn't the highest theatre either, so the view was great. The story is the same as the animated version, which seemed to appeal to myself (i've seen it and enjoyed that a great deal) and others who hadn't. The performers voices were outstanding, great vocal range and volume. No-one seemed to stand out of having anything but a great voice. Costumes were again impressive, incorporating the animals into the design and movement by use of the actors. I still get goosebumps when i hear the circle of life being performed, that is the showpiece song. But then again, the tribal sound is an amazing one, which is magical. Young and old will love this, i was with family who ranged from 5-66 who didn't stop talking about it until the next morning! The only moan i had, is that i saw this the weekend temperature topped 37.5 degrees in the height of summer. Air conditioning doesn't seem to exist so water was consumed by the gallon! The ice cream helped out too though! I'll go and see again in a few months, one of the best, if not the best, productions i've seen in the West End.

We treated hubby to this musical and it was the best evening that was well spent....the staff were brilliant, because I was disabled they allowed us to get through first and we went through a differnt area, settled us to our seating area, made sure we were comfortable during breal and collected us after...We really felt like royality! Adn the show was brilliant!
