Ok so i paid £60 for double room. When I booked it I was told that it was an unrefurbished room so I just assumed it would be a little shabbier than the others, WRONG!
I am not adverse to budget hotels and I welcome them but for £60 for one night I do expect something a little better.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a receptionist who didnt relaly greet us and didnt talk until we said we were there to check in. They then attempted to charge me the full amount of the room despite the fact I had already paid a deposit. They make you pay before you get to your room.
Got to the room and it was a bit shabby but was only there for one night so didnt mind. Sat on the bed, with a paper thin mattress, and I could feel the base of the bed through it. Bed linen was a bit tatty.
Large bathroom so went in to take a shower and there was a bath ,which I expected. However, there was also a silver bit wher the shower should have been attached and a blocked up whole where it would have attached into the taps but no shower attachment. I went to reception to see if they had a hose to attach so I could wash my hair and they said " i can give you a bowl to wash you hair". i refused and returned to my room defeated.
So went out to the concert we were going to (right next to the hotel) and came back for a good nights sleep. Absolutely no chance!! There was a loud karaoke type event coming from adjacent rooms. Women shouting and singing. Dont get me wrong, its nice for people to have fun on holiday but have some consideration. It died down about three and we got up for breakfast at 9.
Breakfast was in the bar. A toaster was on a bar stool with two loaves of bread beside it. Some yoghurt cheese ham and cereal were there but it had been sitting out since 7.30 or b4 with no refrigeration so I wasnt going to chance it.
We hadnt been told at check in any information about check in, breakfast times and had to ask all these questions at a later date. It was very difficult to get the recpetionist to help you and the guy that was on later at night was more interested in smoking outside the door than getting your key for you.
I dont think I would stay here again. It is far too expensive for what you get. Definately not value for money.
