As I have already reviewed the majority of the Disney Parks that form Walt Disney Resort in Florida, I have saved the best until last. Magic Kingdom.

Now, I have to admit that when my other half suggested a holiday to Disney I wasn't convince, "Not my sort of thing" I said to him, "I've never been into Disney" was another excuse, he continued to try and persuade me when one night I was sat in his living room with his dad and something made me think, if it wasn't any good why had he been 5 times already and why would a grown man at the age of 25 want to go there...surely its for kids isn't it?

Needless to say I caved in and went about booking the flights and left the accommodation up to Mark (that's another review you will find somewhere down the list of completed reviews) and he just could not contain the excitement, I however, remained unfazed.
Well I had been to Disneyland in California and was not that impressed previously surely Florida would be similar? No, not at all.

*~*Tickets*~*
I should be earning commission on these tickets the amount of times I have reviewed them any way, we purchased the Ultimate Ticket before we left for Florida at £117 this gave us unlimited access to all of the Disney parks including Disney Quest, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon etc.
These tickets are exclusive to UK residents and can only be purchased in the UK and offer the best value for the park and will save you a small fortune on purchasing tickets on the gate.

*~*Magic Kingdom*~*

You can access Magic Kingdom by Boat or by monorail, we used both options when we visited the park.

Imagine the scene a great big Castle in the centre of the entrance of the park, your walking into a huge storybook.

This was the park that Mark had expected me to like the best and I have to say he wasn't too far wrong, ideal for girls who like pink, fairys and wishes as Magic Kingdom really is the place where dreams can come true. (Mine did as I got engaged there)
If you are planning on visiting with Kids this is the place where they will love, we actually spotted the most characters here and the parades were out of this world.

The Magic Kingdom Park covers 107 acres. It opened in 1971 with 23 attractions in six themed areas: Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A. The seventh themed land, Mickey's Toontown Fair, opened in 1988

*~*Adventureland*~*

Ideal for the wannabe pirate, here you can buy merchandise from Pirates of the Caribbean and go on a river safari.

The Swiss Family Treehouse an ideal place to let the kids burn their energy by climing the treehouse.

Jungle Cruise a great cruise for Kids and adults alike, board a boat and enjoy a leisurely sail across the river and see what animals you can spot along the way. The captains of the boat are a little bit crazy so don't think you can sit back and enjoy the ride as it is somewhat more of an adventure.
Excitement Factor 4/5

Pirates of the Caribbean, unfortunately during our visit the ride was closed for maintenance so I cannot comment on this particular ride however my other half had been on the ride on a previous visit and said it was disappointing that I had not had the opportunity to experience the ride for myself.

The Enchanted Tiki room, a great show that the kids will love and it is a must, many people do go to the parks for the rides but remember what Disney is about and enjoy the great shows that they have to offer in the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room, the song will be playing around in your head for days!!!

The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a traditiona fairground type of ride that allows you to move the ride up and down as it circles similar to the flying saucer rides, nothing special and you won't be missing much if you don't find the time to go on this ride.
Excitement Factor 2/5

*~*Frontier Land*~*
As I said earlier in the review I am not much of a Disney fan, sorry, I was not much of a Disney fan when we went on the holiday and when we entered Frontierland I didn't recognise any of the characters.

Splash Mountain was the first ride that we went on and I loved it, so much that funny feeling in my stomach arrived as we were taking the plunge!! Enjoy the music and many of the ups and downs of this watery ride, a lot better than the log flume at Alton Towers but be warned you will get drenched!! Look at the drop on one of my pics!!
Excitement Factor 5/5

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
A traditional rollercoaster ride that I was not very impressed with, my need for speed was not met on this ride although for children it would be a particuarly fast rollercoaster with some fairly sharp turns.
Excitement factor 3/5

Tom Sawyer Island, another attration that was closed for refurbishment so I did not get to investigate this one but was advised I wasn't missing much.

Country Bear Jamboree
This is another show that Disney offer and I did enjoy the show which lasted about 15 minutes with a range f bears playing instruments and dancing.
Excitement Factor 2/5

*~*Liberty Square*~*
The Hall of Presidents, a typical U.S presentation for visitors claiming how great the presidents are, both Mark and I fell asleep during this show, but it did get better, animatronics have been made to represent previous presidents and they look really real just beware in here as the americans take it really seriously when the anthem is played. A 20 minute stage show.
Excitement Factor 2/5

The Haunted Mansion
Marks favourite ride, I hadn't seen the film so wasn't sure what it was all about but Mark loved the grim grinning ghosts in this ride and the "real" ghosts that danced, I lsot count as to how many times we went on this ride......
Excitement factor 5/5

***********************TOP TIP***********************
If you find the ride to be busy get a fastpass for a later time and avoid long queues, you will be given an allocated time slot to return to the ride and will bypass the queue. You will find these on all major rides.

*~*Fantasyland*~*
This is more geared up for younger Children and we didn't spend much time here at all, apart from the fact that I wanted to go on the Winnie the Pooh ride.

Mad Tea Party is another name for the Teacups ride at Alton Towers, its fun and it makes you feel sick!
Excitement Rating 3/5

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
A slow moving ride telling the tale of Winnie the Pooh, I loved this ride even at the age of 24 but I am a Winnie fan.
Excitement Rating 3/5

Snow White's Scary Adventures
Another
Pictures of The Magic Kingdom, Disneyworld
The Magic Kingdom, Disneyworld Picture 23586863 tb
Spectromagic
ride that the children will like but beware that as the story comes to life.
Excitement Rating 2/5

Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Similar to Aladdins flying carpet, climb aboard life size Dumbos and feel like your flying in the sky.
Excitement Rating 2/5

Cinderella's Golden Carousel
If you like Merry go round's then you will love this ride for all ages.
Excitement Rating 3/5

Mickey's Phillar Magic
Another 3-d show and if you don't want to see them all, please go and see this show, this is what Disney is all about and it is fantastic.
Excitement Rating 4/5

It's A Small World
This ride will drive you insane with the repetitive theme tune, but it is a lovely little ride as you cruise along slowly in a boat see miniature characters from all over the world. You'll be humming and singing the tune in no time.
Excitement Rating 3/5

*~*Tomorrowland *~*
My favourite part of the park as it had my favourite ride.

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
I loved this ride as it had a really catchy tune to it and it also showed the developments through the years starring an animatronic family. I made Mark sit through this at least 3 times a day. You sit on a revolving theatre that moves around slowly introducing the different time periods. Not one that the kids would enjoy.
Excitement Rating 4/5

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Similar to the waltzers except slower movement and you get to shoot with a laser gun at the Evil Emperor Zorg! A whole heap of fun and I only lost out to Mark in the last few minutes of the game, kids will love it.
Excitement Factor 4/5

Tomorrowland Resort Transit Authority
A pollution free way of transport that guides you through Tomorrowland a relaxing ride.
Excitement Factor 3/5

Tomorrowland Resort Indy Speedway
Racing cars set on a track, not exciting, not experienced.

Space Mountain
A fantastic ride in the dark that takes you across the galaxy at terrific speeds and takes you upside down a thrilling ride.
Excitement Rating 5/5Stitch's Great Escape
Now this is a 4-d show, I didn't enjoy it you get wet and you get poked its pretty scary actually but all the same, make sure you take a look you'll regret it if you don't.
Excitement Factor 5/5
  • ~*Mickey's Toontown Fair*~*
Visit Mickey at the Fair here you can see where Mickey lives and visit Minnies House a charming little visit with plenty for the kids to see.
  • **************TOP TIP*******************
Don't forget your camera and autograph book if you want Mickey's autograph and here is the ideal opportunity for some classic Disney photographs.

*~*Main Street, U.S.A.*~*
This is where you can catch the parades and watch the show at Cinderellas Castle, mainly full of shops to purchase Disney Merchandise you will find that you bump into the odd Disney character along the way.
You can catch an old fashioned steam train from here to Toon town or you can visit Frontierland, taking in the amazing sites that can only be found at Disney.
  • ~*Parades and Entertainment*~*
Magic Kingdom has some great parades especially Spectromagic Parade "on this magic night a million stars……" my all time favourite parade!!
Disney characters illuminate the night in this dazzling parade. Every conceivable form of illumination from rainbows of colored lights to dizzying arrays of fiber optics light up for miles around, fantastic.
  • *************TOP TIP*****************
This parade starts from Main Street, get a good spot early on and you'll get some fantastic shots.

Wishes™ Nighttime Spectacular a magical firework display narrated by Jiminy Cricket guiding your favourite characters through a fantastic story. Makes you really believe that wishes do come true.
Disney Dreams Come True Parade
Watch your favourite characters in amazing floats wind their way between Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. and Frontierland.
***************TOP TIP*******************
This parade operated the opposite way to the other parades, get a good spot in Frontier Land and you'll be one of the first to see the parade and can follow the parade as it continues to Main Street.

Times of the parade can be found on the park maps and vary according to seasonality.

*~*Eating out at the Parks*~*
Eating out is pretty reasonable at the parks, you would be looking at similar prices to fast food restaurants in the UK. We found it easy to share a large meal and large drink and have a main meal later in the evening, as you are so busy its easy to realize that you haven't eaten in a while.

A lot of reviews I have read complain about the cost of eating at the parks, we managed to budget pretty well at the park and still have some decent meals out, however Disney have introduced the Dining Plan which is meant to be more cost efficient to the traveler and I would recommend looking into this when you book as it could save you a great deal of money when you arrive.

Parks tend to open from 8am until 10pm in the evening and later on weekends and the time just flies by, we were up and out by 7am every morning of the holiday and not getting in until midnight it was a tiring holiday but we are looking to go back as soon as we can.

Thanks for telling us ALL about it - a most comprehensive (and thoroughly readable) review. BUT I still don't want to go thank you! Richard.

Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris is much better than the one in Florida.
