Introduction
****************
The Magic Kingdom is one of the first that people think about when they think of Disney. I admit this is the same for me. I've been to a number of the Disney theme parks and yet the Magic Kingdom has always been by favourite and most likely always will be because from the first moments that you step through the park gates you can almost feel the magic (or pixie dust should I say).

History
**********
On the 1st October 1971 the Magic Kingdom was opened to the public. The Magic Kingdom was one of the first parks to be build which paved the way for other parks to be built by Disney such as EPCOT and Animal Kingdom etc.

Attractions
***************
The Magic Kingdom is split into a number of sections in which as you walk into different parts its appearance and the way that it seems completely changes. These sections are:-

Main Street - Main Street is one of the main parts that people think of when they think of the Magic Kingdom. Buildings on each side of the main street. The buidlings containing bakerys, restaurants and shops. This street is where the parades that take place go down. The experience of seeing the parades as they go down this street is amazing no matter what age you are. Children and prents alike can enjoy it.

Main Street leads up to Cinderalla's Castle which is regarded as the Magic Kingdoms centre piece and logo for the park. The parades usually go up to the castle and a story line of some sort is usually carried out where the Disney characters such as Mickey and Mini star.

Tomorrow Land - Tomorrow Land attempts to make guest feel as if they are stepping into a futuristic place.

Rides such as Buzz Lightyear where you sit into a cart that goes through different rooms that you can use laser guns on top of your cart to shoot tarts. As certain targets are hit they may move or spin round depending. Bonus points can be gained if certain targets are hit. Your score is displayed in front of you in the cart as you play. At the end you can compare your score with levels on the wall displayed which can show if your Space Commander or Space Cadet.

Stitch's (out of Lilo and Stitch) ride is also in Tomorrow Land. This ride is where you walk into a room and are given a quick briefing about space criminals. You play as a space law officer that is on his first day on the job. Levels of space criminals are explained as Level One and Two until Level Three is explained when all of sudden a call indicating that a Level Three is on its way. Everyone proceeds into a large room where you sit down and seating restraint lowers down into place. The Level Three space criminal is transported into a containment pod where surprise surprise its Stitch. Without spoiling the ending Stitch causes lots of trouble. You'll have to experience this one your self.

Fantasy Land - Fantasy Land is place where fantasy runs free in which fairy tales take over. Young children will especially like this section.

I personally did not love this part of the Magic Kingdom as it seemed annoying at times however I think that was due to the It's a Small World ride where you get into a water boat and you follow a track where you are taken into different segments of the world represented by doll that have been made. While going around the tune It's a Small World after all plays over and over again which can get annoying.

Adventure Land - Adventure Land offers kids the chance to experience rides like Pirates of the Caribbean. This ride shows moving dummies performing funny antics with the occational appearance of Captain Jack Sparrow. Some of the creations of him are very realistic. Children may be interested by this ride however adults are less likely to find as amazing.

Frontier Land - Frontier Land is full of fun packed roller coaster rides such as Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain.

If your going on Splash Mountain be warned that your going to get soaked however the warning is in the name. If you don't love getting wet then I recommend taking a thin waterproof coat. You are taken around a circuit of water rapids and then are taken up a steap mountain where you thrown down the mountain at an extremely fast pace. As you hit the bottom the cart that you are in throws up more water into the air splashing you even more and people standing by on the bridge. An amazing ride. If you plan to ride this in the middle of the day I recommend gettinga fast pass in the morning so it can be ridden in the afternoon.

Thunder Mountain is an amazing roller coaster that takes to great speeds as you go up, down and around bends. I managed to go on this last thing at night before the Magic Kingdom shut so we could beat the crowds. As we got half way round the ride we could see the fireworks been launched into the night sky as we began to be shot into high speeds. A must do ride!!!

Wishes - Wishes is where fireworks set off every night at 10pm. As they are set off they can clearly be seen just behind the castle as they light up the night sky. It follows a story line where the characters talk about having wishes. This is one of the most amazing firework diplays I have ever seen. Definitely worth seeing. Thousands and thousands of dollars must go into making Wishes take place each night.

Disadvantages
*******************
After the Wishes fireworks display has finished there is massive rush for the exits of Magic Kingdom where everyone attempts to force their way down the Main Street to get out and onto either the monorail or the boat. Either way the crowds make it near impossible to get out of the park in a timely fashion.

Prices
**********
There are many passes available at:-
http://www.attraction-tickets.com/disney_world/magic_kingdom.htm

For a 1 day entry it is:-
Children (3 - 9): $67.10
Adults (10+): $79.88

I believe I paid around $80 for a day.

If you would like to have a pass for more than one day then the higher the days you will get a reduced rate for each additional day. Please see the link shown above.

I know it sounds like alot of money however even if you go for on holiday with friends or family you will have an amazing time with loads of memorys.

Recommendation
**********************
I would definitely recommend going to Walt Disnys Magic Kingdom. Worth every penny for adults and kids. If you have kids then this is one place that a child will never foreget. When I was taken as a child for the first time it stook in my memories until I went again. It seems the same even though I've grown up.

Thank you.
