Battle of Jericho

Advantages: Lots of suspense and mystery
Disadvantages: Gender stereotypes and lack of LGBT characters

-Plot- The basic plot of Jericho is that nuclear bombs have exploded all over the USA, destroying cities and killing millions of people. Jericho is a small town in Kansas that's survived the bombing and now has to find a way to survive the aftermath. Jericho is cut off from everywhere else, electricity is running out, food is running short, winter is coming and there's unrest in the town. In addition to the main plot there are a number of subplots involving the main characters. These plots include a bit of everything. There are romantic plots (I'm not going to give away between who, although you'll probably guess within the first episode). There's also a great deal of mystery. Jake is the prodigal son of the mayor and has returned after a long absence during which no one knew where he was. Robert Hawkins arrived in Jericho just ...

Jericho Season 2

Advantages: Gripping
Disadvantages: The series wasn't long enough to develop the storyline

Contains spoilers for season 1. For those of you who haven't seen the first season of Jericho there would be absolutely no point in watching this series. This series starts where the first one ended. Jericho have survived the nuclear attacks that took out a lot of the bigger US cities and have left the United States in anarchy. With every town struggling to survive war has broken out between Jericho and one of its neighbouring towns, New Bern. At the beginning of season two the military arrive and restore order. Problems soon become clear when the residents discover that there is no longer a United States of America, in fact America is divided and Kansas, the state where Jericho is located, is part of the Allied States of America. There are really two parts of the plot of this season and I think that's where this season falls ...

Give Castle Lodge the Dodge

Advantages: A historical building
Disadvantages: disappointing and spoilt by the owners

CASTLE LODGE It was a family day out in Ludlow and whilst I was sitting resting on the bench, waiting for my hubby to return from checking the car and the parking fees, I noticed this really old Tudor style house opposite and on closer inspection discovered that it was open to the public. We didn?t go in straight away, but I did drop a big hint like, ?I want to go in there before we go home? to the family, so that they would not be surprised after the visit to the castle that we went in here. After we had a lovely lunch in the café situated next door to the lodge after a amazing trip around the castle. We were all in high spirits and enjoying our food and refreshments, I dropped the bombshell that I wanted to see the house, they did try to dissuade me as they were now getting slightly tired and wanted to do a little retail ...
