We stayed following an online booking, through thier own website, in June 09. First impressions are that it was adequate , a few thousand quid on decoration and a bit more attention to details (how i hate only having one cup in a double room)would take it from ok to nice. I was looking for one thing from the hotel room, somewhere to sleep after a gig. And that was where the problem started. Our room was across from a night club and it had a late licence. Now whilst I expect some noise, to be hearing the on street conversation , rows, singing etc etc onto 4am it was very excesive. I did speak to the manager she said "that it is a city centre hotel", "we get about twenty complaints a week", "we speak to the council every week" and the killer "we don't give refunds for complaints about the noise". The manager was assertive verging on the aggressive and did offer me the address to complain to the council. The manager was quite happy to argue infront of other customers and it did seem like a well rehearsed arguement. Actually it is no surprise they ask for payment before, because they would not have got a penny from me. I do not think my expectations are too high, the hotel need to decide wether they want to close the offending hotel rooms or wether they will invest in decent double glazing
