Mirador Des Concrete Works!
We decided to spend a long weekend in Minorca?s Capital, Mahon and found this hotel through Octopus Travel; we paid £454.00 for 4 night?s bed and breakfast for three adults in a triple room over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Location: 8½/10
The Hotel is situated in a nice quiet residential area about ten minutes walk from the centre of Mahon and only 5kms from the airport. It is set on a cliff above the port which can be reached down a long and steep road at the back of the hotel or by a large set of steps from the centre of the city.
Appearance: 8½/10
Quite modern and well kept, with a large terrace area at the side.
Parking: 0/10
None! Be warned if you hire a car as you will have to park some way from the hotel and the local police just love to ticket hire cars!
Lobby: 8/10

The phrase 'the graveyard of ambition' is frequently used to describe Swansea (as in films such as 'Twintown'). This is in many cases true. I first moved to Swansea to study there in 2003 and haven't wanted to move yet. I even intend on after studying to live and build my life here.

Swansea hosts a 5 mile beach extending from the Marina to the village of Mumbles.
The people of Swansea are referred to as Swansea Jack's (after the tale of Jack the labrador who rescued many lives) and although a Welsh city only a small percent actually speak welsh fluently.
Swansea was the birth ...

Advantages: Good Range of Shops. Disadvantages: Fairly Spread Out - ie: Requires Walking.
I like Swansea. Not very much, but it'll do.
I'm kind of limited when it comes to shopping areas, unless I have £15 to throw away on the train journey to Cardiff.
For me, Swansea is a £4.30, hour and a half bus ride from home, or a 20 minute drive.
When it comes to the shops, town centre is pretty good. It has a diverse range of shops to suit young and old.
The one thing I dislike is the fact that it's so spread out. Woolworths and Argos are on opposite sides of town, all the banks are a few roads up on the Kingsway, there are so many branches of Clinton Cards I've lost count. Personally, and maybe this is just me, I don't find it easy to find shops in Swansea. If you're after a certain shop and you don't know where it is but you're pretty sure there's one around, you're pretty much resigned to walk the streets until you find ...
