...through the park and view the city of Perth by night.
My second recommendation, and one that is a lot cheaper, is Café del Pescatore. This is on the Esplanade at Scarborough Beach. At one point, I was eating in here four nights a week, and I can recommend the Sword Fish, and the Barramundi, as well as their pasta dishes. And have a bottle of Evans and Tate Two Vineyards Chardonnay to go with it, on me! You need to watch though, as in the winter months, the whole of the Scarborough Beach area shuts up quite early – about 9pm.
A more exclusive restaurant in the Scarborough area is Savannahs, which is modern Australian cuisine. This is part of the Rendezvous hotel complex. However, make sure you book to avoid disappointment, both through it being full and to the fact it doesn’t open every night of the week.

Advantages: Great location, good facilities and service; and comfortable rooms! Disadvantages: A bit of a walk to the closest MRT (City Hall)
...Centrally loacted, the hotel is very close to numerous recreational and commercial places. In fact, Pan Pacific Singapore is within walking distance of many of Singapore's historic landmarks, such as the Padang, stage to some of the most significant national events, the Cenotaph and the commemorative landing site of Sir Stamford Raffles - founder of modern Singapore. It is also close to Singapore's historic, cultural and entertainment areas, such as CHIJMES, the Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Robertson Walk and the newEsplanade - Theatres on the Bay. The hotel is also connected to Millenia Walk and Suntec City shopping complexes.
You must try the Hai Tien Lo for exquisite Cantonese, Keyaki Japanese restaurant for authentic Japanese food. Its amazing!!
Full-length glass windows with views of Singapore's city skyline or the Marina Bay harbour...

...A city of some 45,000 people, Perth sits on the crossroad of the major routes to the Highlands of Scotland. Good quality roads from Edinburgh and Glasgow and a regular rail service (if a little slow) from both these cities.
During the summer months Perth has many passing tourists who find the quiet charm of the city a welcoming place. Many visitors will use the city as a base to explore further into major centres of population or unspoilt wilderness depending on what is wanted.
The city has a range of accommodation from a youth hostel, B&B, hotels and many eating places to suit most budgets.
I have always found the local people friendly and helpful - but do not expect the organised tourist centres of the larger cities.
In winter, Perth acts as a base for many skiers, less than an hour away from the Scottish Ski slopes. These same...
